I'm not sure where you saw people saying this. I said repeatedly that the President could deploy the National Guard to support the Border Patrol. After all, both Obama and Bush also sent the National Guard to help the Border Patrol during their administrations. The governor of Texas also sent the National Guard to assist the Border Patrol in that state.
As I and others did point out, however, as in previous administrations, the National Guard will be limited to support functions. They'll be doing things like monitoring the electronic surveillance systems in the southern parts of the county, providing helicopter support for border patrol work, etc.
Federal law prohibits the National Guard (and other arms of the full time military) from doing things like arresting, detaining, and interrogating people on U.S. soil when another law enforcement agency (the Border Patrol, ICE) is already doing that. But, I'm sure it will be helpful to the border patrol to be freed up from more routine tasks, just as it was during the Obama and Bush administrations.
As someone who lives right by the border, I have no problem with the National Guard giving that support to the Border Patrol, just as I didn't during Obama and Bush's terms.
I know you mean well but you are wrong. As I pointed out before the Guard can in fact arrest and enforce laws. Look it up, I did...

You are correct. I just read on ABC News this morning this group is only temporarily stopping and some will apply for visas in Mexico and the rest have all intention on continuing heading to U.S....
Its absurd that some fellow Americans see this as no problem and instead are making snide, mocking comments to those of us who want these people stopped.
"Generally" these are the people who belong to the political group that wants to benefit from these people entering the country. Sadly, they're willing to trade the makeup of this country for some votes. It's not that they see it or believe it is "no problem", they simply DON'T CARE, it's a means to an end and the means do not matter...
As I've said before, all a President has to do is enforce E-Verify and either push congress to give it some severe teeth. Will it happen? HELL NO as the lobby groups that want the cheap disposable labor benefit too much to give it up...

Nope, as usual trump overstep his authority. If the states want to use their NG units that have boarder issues ,then yes those states can but the tangerine turd in the WH can not.
