An off-duty California police officer pulled a gun on a man whom he accused of stealing Mentos candy at a gas station, according to ABC TV station KABC in Los Angeles.
The man had in fact just purchased the candy, according to surveillance video of the March 16 incident posted by KABC.
The cop didn't see this guy pay for the item, only saw him reach over the counter to grab the mints instead of the sales clerk handing it over. The clerk should have spoken up sooner. THE COP APOLOGIZED.
Much ado about nothing. Good thing the customer wasn't black or the taxpayers would be on the hook for a fat settlement.

Wow! I'm not normally one to weigh in on race issues but that's GOT to be one of the most racist things I've ever heard. And I'm a white guy!
I hope you're proud of yourself, Pilgrims. It's people like you who give Trump supporters (not that they need a lot of help in that regard) a bad name.
I had an overzealous off duty coworker who pulled his piece on some kids stealing a case of beer at a 7-11. He chased them out of the store. They came up to him as he was leaving and shot him dead. It is never worth your or anyone else's life to do something like this for Mentos, beer, or whatever. Be a good witness unless it turns life threatening. Stupid move on this guy's part to assume what he did. He could have just asked without pulling his firearm.
Wow, just WOW !!! There were two dumbasses in that video, the cop and the clerk. The clerk could have said, "He paid for it "! But he just stood there.
I hope that cop either loses his job or is reprimanded severely. I normally support the police, WHEN THEY ARE RIGHT, this guy was way over the line.
I hope that poor guy gets enough money out of this to buy a truckload of Mentos.
i really believe we ought to disarm cops. they have prove over and over they cant be responsible with a firearm
