I wish the admin were a lot more hands on and involved with people deliberately posting fake news or making false statements, but they allow it. I guess flat out lies and fake news aren't a violation of ToS.

I'm just used to some of the other political forums I'm on, where there's tons of great debates and conversations between dems and repubs, using factual information. And if somebody posts an untruth or fake news, the admins delete it immediately.

But this place isn't like that, which is fine.
You are the master of posting #fakenews. Don't even try to virtue signal. If it was against the ToS you'd have been gone a long time ago amigo.

Hard to argue that a "good guy" with a gun scenario would put an end to mass shootings when something like this happens.

Who is reporting that? And how do they know?

This source says that Roberson was employed as a security guard by the bar. And was on duty.

It diesn't matter whether he was licensced because they never stopped to find out.

It's not like they shot him after checking if he had the right kind of paperwork.

According to winesses, he never got a chance to say a word. They never told him to put the gun down. They just shot him.

Even harder to argue that I was making that point, because I wasn't.

My point was, criminal with a gun got shot.

Well your point would be wrong then since their is no evidence that Jemel Roberson was a criminal.

Even the chief of police said this about him

What we have learned is Jemel Roberson was a brave man who was doing his best to end an active shooter situation at Manny’s Blue Room

The Midlothian Police Department is completely saddened by this tragic incident and we give our heartfelt condolences to Jemel, his family and his friends. There are no words that can be expressed as to the sorrow his family is dealing with.

Doesn't sound like you know much about this specific case. You should probably read up on it more before commenting on here.

Yeah, I retract what I said, doesn't sound like a cop problem. Sounds like a dummy problem where people still think they have something to gain by ignoring the demands of an officer with a gun pointed at them.
From the same article you're linking to:

Quote:
Jakia Woods lives in a house adjacent to Manny's parking lot. She said officers already on the scene had asked Roberson to release the suspect, and Roberson was complying, when another officer came through the bar's back door.

"Before [Roberson] could get up off of him, the officer comes flying out this door gun up," Woods said Tuesday afternoon while standing on her porch. "He says, 'Get on the ground,' and before he says 'ground,' he fires the first shot."

"Everybody is screaming and hollering," she said. "Even the officers were screaming and hollering, 'He's one of us. He's one of us. He's a security guard. He works here.' "

Witness Adam Harris told WGN-TV he saw the same thing. "Everybody is screaming out, 'He's a security guard,' " Harris said.

Reached late Tuesday night, Woods said investigators had not attempted to interview her. The Illinois State Police did not respond to multiple calls for comment late Tuesday.

So the police claim that witnesses said one thing, but witnesses are coming forward publicly and stating the exact opposite. We already know that the police aren't always honest in situations like these, and here they SEEM to be outright lying.
