For those who don't know how unemployment benefits work, there is usually a waiting period of a couple weeks and you have to be eligible for and looking for employment.

Also, you actually have to be unemployed, as in laid off. Merely, being "furloughed" probably doesn't count.

If you quit your job, it takes longer as there is usually some sort of hearing to determine if it is reasonable that you quit.

I suspect not getting a paycheck as good a reason as any.

Should it stand, the next Dem president can come in and declare all kinds of national emergencies--climate change is a biggie--and do exactly what Trump is doing. And should we have a real national emergency--nobody will take Trump seriously.

Careful what you wish for alt-right. The people of this country do not want a dictator--Trump should take note. If he's going to listen to pathetic advisors--he's going to be very unhappy.

Dems are united against Trump and Pelosi knows it. No wall--they won't be bullied by the guy in the WH. This is a loser for Trump--he should quit while he can still save face.
^Excellent post, Enigma!

By the way, what did Individual 1 say about KAC and SHS? I’ve been pretty busy today, so I didn’t keep up.

Yep, he's playing a losing hand here.

Given his lackluster performance last night, it's pretty clear he knows it.

But what else is he going to do? He's got to create some sort of dust up. Otherwise all we'll have to talk about his how his campaign manager was conspiring with the Russians.

The only "problem" Dems have here is their usual one - they honestly care about people, including those laid off. But they also cannot set new "standards" for the way the government is run (POTUS having hissy-fits), so they have little choice if Trump is acting like he holds cards.

Ideally, Trump should be thrown out of office for this...and a bunch of his other stunts. But our founders made some big mistakes..they didn't realize how bad a person could be. They didn't set up systems to address this because they didn't understand that people like Individual #1 would be given the office.

It would be like if Trump decided to use the Rose Garden for his outhouse. He could do so and Congress couldn't make him go inside (as long as he was behind a bush....a "Bush", hey that's a pun).

He can do lots of things which are crazy and bad for human beings. But, again, the Founding Fathers hardly imagined that a person with nothing except self-interest would occupy the seat.

lmfao... the hypocrisy in your post is straight up ridiculous.

You do realize that democrats are acting as dictators by refusing to work with Trump. They are effectively driving the country from the backseat. Worse yet, Schumer stated on national television in 2006 that he believes we need a wall! So did Hillary, and so did Obama... How do you weasel your way out of that awkward reality?

That’s what’s scary. Individual 1 will keep this up because he needs a distraction. He doesn’t give a crap about people, so to hell with them. To end this, we have to rely on the GOP to get a backbone. We have to rely on the complicit, spineless GOP... Scary ish.

No, those who don't want the wall haven't bothered with the above because they are either bleeding heart liberals without a brain in their heads, are parroting what the Democrats are telling them, hire illegal aliens for profit or have ethnic ties to illegal aliens.

How is something a waste of money that is effective and costs much less than the alternative of footing the over $100 billion a year that illegal aliens costs us.

Where was their outrage back in 2006 when the actual wall bill passed and it was to be the taxpayer to soley fund it? Are they not aware that it had both Schumers and Obama's signature on it.

What wall will Trump build for 5 billion dollars? Where will it be? What will be needed to maintain it? How big? How long?

Trump doesn't know because he's trying to turn a campaign meme into a reality.

IF the wall is SUCH national emergency - why didn't Trump support the bipartisan offer last year of 20 billion dollars in exchange for the Dreamers?

Huh?

Answer. It ain't no emergency.
