Air transportation was slowing. Getting close to collapse.
From ordinary airline passengers to Fedex and UPS and US Mail. All use air transportation.
And the same will happen if there is another "next time".

And it was a mistake for him to fold. I"m a believer in the scorched earth method in this showdown. If the liberal left isn't kept in check both in terms of border security and more generally, we won't have a country anymore. So whatever the damage done, even if the government is shutdown for a year (and its only a partial shutdown btw), I don't care because its still preferrable to a Democrat victory where we get open borders, amnesty for not just DACA for all illegals, unrestricted drug flow from Mexico, endless illegal immigration and refugees, and the left pushing the rest of it's socialist agenda including government run health care and more unfair trade agreements to send our wealth abroad and the war on domestic US energy production and the attack on the 2nd amendment.
So yes I would have preferred for the government shutdown to continue NO MATTER WHAT THE COST because the cost of a Democrat, liberal victory is FAR WORSE!!!!!! I would have preferred a Trump victory, and even if Schumer won't budge, then for Trump to go down fighting vs surrender. Even if Trump fought to the bitter end and went down fighting, that would also be more honorable than what happened.
If even Trump can't stop the left, then maybe its up to American patriots to take matters into our own hands and the left will regret that day when it comes. It will be worse than 1861. And this is why I will never give up my guns.

Agreed. There should be a law that if funding is not passed some continuing appropriations automatically kick in under the same terms as the last bill, essentially the same as passing a CR.
No. It's time to have a law that requires Congress to pass a budget. This CR crap has got to stop. Stay in session until you have one done. This is your frigging job.
How is the inability of people to plan for a rainy day Trump’s fault? Why do people live from pay check to pay check?
It’s not inability. It depends on where you live and how much you make. It depends on the needs of each family. Some make just enough to pay the bills and put food on the table. They don’t have much extra to save. Do you guys really live in a fantasy world where living paycheck to paycheck is just inconceivable to you.
People didn't blame Trump because Trump is on video telling Schumer that he would proudly own the shutdown.
Once again, it takes two to tango. Trump said he would take ownership of the shutdown. Pelosi and Schumer had no problems with a government shutdown, even though it meant that federal employees would be going without paychecks. On top of that, a group of democrats went to PR to see a fundraising performance of "Hamilton". Then Pelosi thought nothing of going to Afghanistan on the government's dime---so glad that Trump put a halt to that. The democrats' actions speak louder than words. They had a chance to say they would give Trump the money for the wall/fence and thus avoiding the shutdown. Yet they didn't care at all as to what the consequences of their actions would be.
Time to take your meds. You understand the fed workers are mostly repugs. One man’s ideas cannot hurt the people he swore to serve ! But your speaking about insurgency. That is not American - ps my husband was a democrat who died while serving - so patriots are also dems.
How do you know that federal workers are mostly republicans (that's right---"republicans", not the childish, immature word "repugs")? Did you personally call each and everyone of them? I have news for you---there are plenty of federal workers who are democrats. Why do you think parts of MD and VA turned blue? It's because those areas are filled with federal workers. Also, take a look at DC, too.
