America is great for the rich... that’s why moving back to Europe after many many years living in this country.
That shift corresponds almost perfectly to the inception of NAFTA. No shocker there. We allowed Canada to steal our jobs, our wealth and to stab us in the back under NAFTA. That's over now. Watch this swing back the other way.

Since Trump announced he was going to redo NAFTA, foreign investment has fallen through the floor in Canada. If Canada's such a great place to do business, why would foreign countries/companies stop investing there? If you said "Because Canada's only draw, was funnelling foreign products into the US tax free under the guise of NAFTA" you win!!!

You certainly aren't a psychiatrist because the really important things like lifespan, infant mortality, opioid and other abuse, suicide, depression, material mortality, STD's, obesity and quite a few others pointers DO indicate that we are not making the most of what we have.

But, as others say, what else is new? I don't think even the most rabid "America First" types would say we are doing the best we could in qualify of life indicators. #37 in health care or education is nothing much to brag about.

But we "win" in terms of needless "stuff" hoarded by the masses. Definitely. The larger question is whether there is a inverse relationship between crass materialism and advanced human existence.

That's one of the most ridiculous statements ever to appear on this forum (and I'm not just referring to its sentence structure).

Newsflash: Yes, the population of Canada, which equals the population of ONE of our states--California--is relevant. Your feeble attempt to dismiss it is laughable.

This is the kind of alliance America should be trying to be a part of. A united Anglosphere would be a powerful economic force indeed. Instead we've chosen to try to emulate Brazil. I'm sure that will end well for us.

The American dream is to work 70 hours a week, pay half your income in rent, and die of Ketoacidosis because big pharma quietly colludes to charge 1400 bucks a month for insulin.

Whachu talkin bout Willis?

Pogue above. VERY MUCH agreed with above.

EPIC fail of the day.

Canada trade balance is 1.03/1. About as close as you can get to even.

CANZUK?

That's not even on the talking points for political junkies, and I've never heard of it. Again, what does whatever that concept is have to do with Canada answering to Britain on ANY issue beyond that both countries are in a treaty arrangement on? You know, like NATO, where they honor Article 5 and step in and assist another country that was attacked. You know, like the only time Article 5 was invoked was by the USA after 9/11, and guess which country was the first to step up and join in Afghanistan? Your buddy up here in the attic, Canada.
