I'm not overly bothered. I mostly think it's hilarious that Gillette did this. A company guilty of abusive exploitative labor practices overseas and who charges way too much for their crappy little razor blades. A company that is currently surviving mostly on name recognition. A company that has plenty of competition and alternatives to their products. That company was stupid enough to lead off a commercial for a product almost exclusively marketed to men ... by telling men, "You know, some of you are terrible people!! Fix yourselves!!"
I mean how stupid can you get?? That's my whole point. If a tampon commercial decided to be a PSA telling women, "You know girls, most of you suck at life and need to fix yourselves immediately!!" what do you suppose the reaction would be?
It's just bad marketing. It's a fine message for some some Church or non-profit to put up. It's not actually a bad message. It has its cringey moments. It's kinda political. But telling men to be better isn't a bad message all by itself. Just don't do it on a commercial for men's products.
On the opposite side, take a look at Axe commercials. They do what commercials are supposed to do. "Buy our crap and you'll be way more manly. Girls you've never met will want to tear your clothes off and have their way with you." That actually works. That puts the idea in people's heads. The kind of seed that leads people like my wife to buy a bunch of Axe stuff for me for Christmas -- cuz maybe the commercials carry some kernel of truth and it'll amp up my manliness and sexiness. That's intelligent marketing. Insulting or demeaning the people you're advertising to just isn't.
In part 2 the c-blocker swoops in to hit on the woman he just "rescued" proving once and for all that there were nefarious motives behind Sir Blocks-a-lot's supposed chivalry.
I guess you're completely vindicated in your daydreams. Good on you!
Ok.
What would you say about a bra company add that talks zilch about the quality of their bras, but lecturing women not to behave like sluts, not to be snakes at the work-place and to stop falsely accusing men of rape?
Someone out there has to make up one of these. Not a funny parody but a comparable ad to this, something to shame and correct women on their behavior, having nothing to do with the product being sold.
So tired of the "we must feminize men in this country because testosterone is bad!" mentality.
If a boy is acting like an azzhole, he is just that. Stop blaming an entire segment of society with this "toxic masculinity" crap. and yes boys will be boys and quite frankly I think girls are far worse when it comes to bullying. Women can be jackals to other people and worse with other women.

Need an ad for women telling them not to make fake rape accusations...Maybelline could do it..."Maybe its Maybelline. Or Maybe its Make Believe."
Or Gillete could do one telling black men not to be violent criminals and stop murdering other black men...A black guy could carjack a person, and another black man could stop him, and say "Not cool, Deshaun". Or show a drive by shooting where when the black guy pulls a gun in the car and aims it at a couole of black guys in front of a house, his black friend in the car stops him and says,"thats not how we treat others Tyrell"
Or they could do one telling Muslims not to be terrorists. A Muslim could be planting a bomb in a subway station, and another Muslim comes up and says " We don't do this anymore, Abood"
It would be the exact same thing. Demonizing a group using stereotypes, and virtue signaling.

For sure. You can look at the human cross-section in any large office environment and, nine times out of ten, the most toxic individuals you'll find are women. On the plus side, most of the very best people you will find will also be women. Different women, to be clear.
I find it amusing that SJWs seem to have decided that the best way to bully men in to supporting this ad or keeping silent about their opposition to this ad about toxic masculinity is to question their masculinity.
#metoo.
the irony is so thick you could build a Mexican wall with it.

if a man allows a commercial to make him feel less manly, than he probably is a soy-boy pajama boy with a manbun on his head.
