So a warm summer is not a weather event, it's a climatic change????
It can be evidence of global climactic change if it is an outlier. That's a simple enough concept. I'm always shocked when people don't understand it.

Just a couple years ago even the UK Met Office and NASA were forced to accept the truth and were writing reports acknowledging a two decade pause in the global mean surface temperatures.
It's government that wants control over the people, and man-made global warming climate change is their best chance to convince the people to empower government over them. So what happens when government pours billions of taxpayer dollars into only the studies, techniques, data collection and manipulation which helps them in their agenda? It's simple, the data we see will be one-sided.
You don't see the obvious? It's the government which wants control over the people, industry, production and our way of life, and it's not curious how 97% of government researchers are on the side of the government's agenda?
Selling global climate change is the best way to control the people? Really? I think you're a little off on that. If you believe so strongly, why don't YOU become a climate scientist to study the truth and tell everyone? Me? I can look at maps, averages, outliers in local/regional weather, etc, and see what IS happening.

Notice the word "now" in the climate prediction. We are 12 years past his now and still plenty of winter snow.
People entrenched in climate hysteria are absolutely unable to overlay these failed predictions onto their belief system. It's kinda funny. They don't want to shatter their id, their sense of moral progression, or their worldview.
I live in a place that has historically had pretty high snow totals. We've seen a dramatic shift in when we get snow and how much we get at a time. It's a roller coaster of extremes--including temperature shifts of more than 30 degrees (from -5 to 25 is a crazy ride) and having lower than average snow for a month, then higher than average the next. It's been a rough few winters for a place that relies on snow for winter tourism.

Whatever you all are the geniuses who want to control everyone else while being controlled yourselves.
Parts of Australia have been suffering from terrible heat and drought--the key is where it says "record-breaking" in the reports. Meaning it's hotter/dryer than normal. Try looking at the whole phrase. Sometimes words mean things.

From the Met Office's report in 2013: The Recent Pause in Global Warming
Global mean surface temperatures rose rapidly from the 1970s, but there has been little further warming over the most recent 10 to 15 years to 2013. This has prompted speculation that human induced global warming is no longer happening, or at least will be much smaller than predicted. Others maintain that this is a temporary pause and that temperatures will again rise at rates seen previously.
They were puzzled as to why the warming they predicted didn't come true. They scrambled to explain why their man-made global warming predictions failed, and switched to calling it climate change instead. One new theory they have added is that the oceans are suddenly absorbing all the warming they predicted, as if the oceans were unable, or unwilling to do so in the past, and the oceans absorbing surface warmth is a new phenomenon.
Do you understand how science works? When a theory is posited, and then some new data challenges part of it, you don't throw it all away. You follow that change and find out what's happening. Data supports this no matter how hard you try to ignore it.

Wut? The world isn't losing snow? So diminishing snow pack in the Alps is equaled by a few flakes falling in a place that doesn't normally see it? It doesn't work that way. That's utterly ridiculous. Please try to look at what you're saying.

So are you down for the bet or not? No snow globally in the winter of 2021. I think there will be snow.
In addition to science, you need a grammar lesson. Try looking up "future perfect" to see what you can find. It'll open up a whole world to you!
Climate science was not a partisan political subject in the USA until the Koch brothers put their big dark money on it. Republicans and Democrats alike were alarmed and directed more research on this subject.
The rest of the world, uninfluenced by these dirty shenanigans by American businesspeople, sees global warming as a common worldwide threat, regardless of their political orientation in their own countries. Right wing Americans are alone in the whole world on this subject ... the entire world, and most Americans disagree with the Republicans on this issue (which bodes poorly for Republican prospects in the USA's future).
You are on the wrong side of history friend, and our descendants, yours and mine, will be enraged at our generation's lack of resolve in tackling this problem while we could have had the most positive success for our efforts.
I don't care what side of history you think I'm on ... I'm on the side of the truth. And climate science has been usurped by bureaucrats who want to use it to bring about global socialism. I'm not buying there is a climate crisis.
Even AOC has recently admitted that climate change is a lever of economic and social justice. And if she's figured it out, so has everyone else. Politics + science = politics. Leftists are not interested in science. They are interested in confiscating the worlds wealth, creating a new order, and then declaring themselves saviors of the planet. LOL. No thanks. I am a fan of self-determination and freedom.

The prediction was there would be no snow in future winters. Try looking up "context" to see what you can find. Also, the comparison between the Alps and place X is all you. It's a strawman you made in order to argue a point I wasn't making.
Without the author to clarify meaning, I think it could go either way. I'm not going to quibble over this. I made the larger point and that was past climate consequence predictions have been wrong and I have zero reason to put my faith in future predictions of climate catastrophe. Cheers!
Every time I see a thread like this that says Global Warming is fake due to it snowing somewhere, it just reaffirms my belief that Conservatives are really stupid when it comes to science.

It has been my 50 year observation that they were more concerned with high school football and cheerleaders than science class.
Well, the quote I used was reported as being from the Max Planck Institute for Meteorology, Hamburg, 2 Sept 2008. But oddly enough, they don't keep a running or current list of their failed climate predictions on their web site. Might have something to do with people financing them. Anyway, any scientist that would report something outside of your beliefs would likely be considered unreputable by you in the first place. so what's the point?
“Children just aren’t going to know what snow is,” Dr. David Viner, a scientist with the climatic research unit at the University of East Anglia, told the UK Independent in 2000."
Funny thing, that document is gone too. It's almost like there was an effort to scrub the internet of materials that can be used to point out these failed examples of climate fear-mongering.
I guess your point is that if it's not on the internet and authored by a scientist you agree with, then it didn't happen. My point is that here in 2019 is that kids know what snow is and winters are still snowy and icy and I don't believe there is an existential climate crisis at all. Cheers.
It doesn't really matter. Most people would love to drive a slick, affordable, performant electric car, but none EXISTS! No government policy is going to speed that process up. The Earth will adapt no matter what the climate does. Just live your life and stop acting like you really care if the temp is 1 degree higher in 100 years.
