Yep. Punish the actions of the few that are irresponsible and illegal with guns. Don't punish the law abiding and responsible. Hold this guy ACCOUNTABLE for wrongful death.
Would you take steak knives away from everyone for someone being stupid with one?
Just like people can still die driving legally at 70mph on the highway and they fall asleep at the wheel or
whatnot. We could lower that to 20mph though and prevent so many deaths.
Did you have some solution relative to this incident or are you just rubbing your hands in ghoulish glee that you get to politicize this families tragedy?
What about al the people, including women that use a firearm to save their life? The OP wants to take away their right to defend their lives. So if they die because they are not allowed to have a firearm, and criminals do, that's OK?
Yes, let's make people even MORE vulnerable to violent criminals that don't follow laws, including gun laws.
Every time he thinks of his daughter he will pay the price for making this grievous error the rest of his life. His tragedy has nothing to do with me or anyone else who owns a firearm. Get off that soapbox because you look ridiculous standing up there.

Well sunshine, you just rendered Taxpayer's post an excellent example of displayed irony, didn't you?
Per the laws of my state, the shoot would meet the requirement of being under roof. Front and rear porches are considered living areas. It may or may not meet the requirement of identifying all residents of the house. Was this daughter living there or did she stop by in the middle of the night unannounced? Was this after curfew and she should have been home hours ago? Did she sneak out and was coming back?
Yes. Years ago we had a family emergency and our home phone was having issues so a family member drove over to notify us. He had a key but did not enter the house. He beat on my bedroom window and then ran back into the yard. When I turned on the outside light, his first words were "Don't shoot! It's me!" He knew how to properly get in touch with me in the middle of the night.
