Not sure why anyone would believe these men were saints. Men of the past were some of the worst, no matter what they did for the overall good.

And... the MLK legacy industry continues on as if nothing has happened.

Groundbreaking for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue basketball court

City Councilman Levon Manzie along with Mayor Sandy Stimpson and County Commissioner Merceria Ludgood will all be on hand for the ceremony.

Yep. Just like all the Lee Counties and Woodrow Wilson High Schools continue to exist.

You’ll be fine. Methinks that the real issue continues to be anger by some that MLK helped preclude many disgruntled folks from inheriting their grandfather’s America.

It ain’t coming back, and folks should come to grips with it.

Ban the signs, ban the roads, and ban the cars that have ever driven on those roads. We cannot stand for this injustice by a misogynist against women. I am personally waiting for Bernard 3-homes Sanders and Great Warrior Warren to take down the signs by hand themselves.

So they could use the information to control him and, if needed, to destroy him him if he did get out of control. Information that can be used to blackmail someone is a very valuable commodity.

Indeed - Hoover had the goods on JFK and RFK. Johnson, however, had the goods on Hoover.

Ghandi was a pervert too, having had sex with kids. Mohammed was a pedophile. I guess MLK joins the ranks of historical perverts and it just takes a lot of the glow off his image and reputation.

King was instrumental in the civil rights movement. I have always wondered why he, rather than Frederick Douglas, has been considered to be more important in black history. Douglas actually put his life on the line and was not (to anyone's knowledge) a sexual deviant.

Corrupted men who come to a position of power use that power in pursuit of self gratification and satisfying personal needs at the expense of others. Obviously, King was such a man.

Just look at the wishful thinking from all the revanchist reactionaries spewing such nonsense. Pretty much proves the point that there are some folks who wish for a revival of the Confederacy.

Ain't happening, people.

Point out the person on this thread who desires a "revival of the Confederacy." Be specific, please.

I've often wondered how "Pound me too" actually helps to raise awareness and helps to combat rape and sexual assault. Sounds like it's kinda the opposite!
