I have definitely said "I'm not surprised", I don't ever remember saying "I'm glad" or "this is good/right/how it should be".

Maybe you can quote the post I'm forgetting?

And as for your comment about what are they going to do, re-hire comey?

I seem to remember some general (4 star) that retired in 2012 and they nailed him in 2015 for mishandling classified information....GEN. Petraeus.....how could that be? Did they re-hire him?

Petraus was criminally charged for lying to the FBI along with "'gathering, transmitting or losing defense information" under the Espionage Act, a criminal statute. He ended up pleading guilty to a criminal misdemeanor.

Unlike Petreus, the IG stated that Comey had not disclosed classified information and did not accuse Comey of violating a criminal statute. Violating an internal policy alone cannot lead to criminal charges.

"On April 23, 2015, Petraeus pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of mishandling classified materials. He was given a two-year probationary period and a fine of $100,000"

“We found no evidence that Comey or his attorneys released any of the classified information contained in any of the Memos to members of the media,” the inspector general report says.

It should be fairly obvious why Comey (did not release classified information) cannot be charged with a crime and Petraeus (released classified information) can be charged with a crime, no?

Where in that quoted post do you see advocacy?

Remind me again how much jail time Petraeus served, for a FAR more serious indiscretion? Just about as much as Comey, right? If you think Comey should be charged with mishandling classified info based on the memos he sent to his buddies - take it up with Barr.

You're making my point for me. Folks at the top get held to a different standard. It happens all the time, to both Liberals and Conservatives. It's not a good thing, but it's how it is.

You're right, he released nothing to the media, he released it to his buddy.....

People are getting their knickers in a twist over a very tiny slice of Comey's corruption. It's like complaining Jeffrey Epstein should have been arrested for littering. Bigger charges coming soon enough.

Someone needs to tell Comey he has the right to remain silent...

...to be published in a book. I finished that sentence for you. Also, by buddy you mean f**k-buddy, right?

What about this:

As part of the agreement, Petraeus admitted that he improperly removed and retained highly sensitive information in eight personal notebooks that he gave to Broadwell. The Justice Department said the information, if disclosed, could have caused “exceptionally grave damage.” Officials said the notebooks contained code words for secret intelligence programs, the identities of covert officers, and information about war strategy and deliberative discussions with the National Security Council.

Is equivalent to the information Comey included in his memos?

My points about Petraeus stand.
