These women are true leaders, encouraging other women to take control of their health. Bravo to the founders as well as the participants. Hey Oprah, feature these wonderful ladies in the future rather than one who wants to keep morbidly obese women oppressed by toxic thinking.
I don't know why weight is being singled out as something that can be overcome, while the racism link should be ignored. What CAN'T you say this about concerning racism? One can argue that people can and have been making it, as black people, despite racism in America. One could say that in 1900, 1950, 2000 and today. You can educate yourself, you can start a business, you can find a job....notwithstanding racism, yet, we fight and point out the racial obstacles to achieving in these pursuits.
Any poor black person in the ghetto can make an argument about how racism has resulted in more poverty among black people. In other words, there is enough historical evidence to link racism as a cause to the effect of higher rates of black poverty. Does that mean it explains why a particular black person in the ghetto is poor? It has to be true for somebody, if the cause and effect is true. However, we have a problem when an INDIVIDUAL will claim its true for them....that racism is why they are poor and stuck in the ghetto.
At least some of us can understand and accept at the macro level that the accrued impact of racial discrimination and oppression has negatively hurt black people relative to others socioeconomically. However, the same people will have a hard time accepting this at the micro level of the individual. An individual claiming that racism has held them back will be seen as an excuse, despite the general acceptance at the macro level that racism has hurt blacks socioeconomically. Again, if its a general truth...then it has to be true for a least some people at the individual level. But who is to be the arbiter of which individual making the claim is telling the truth or making an excuse? Its no different for the issue of how racism has impacted rates of obesity in black women. One can make a scholarly and logical argument about a link between racism/white supremacy and black obesity ......and if that is true....then why can't it be true for SOME individuals? If something is a truth in general, then its a truth in particular among some and who is the arbiter to determine?
My thing is this....concerning the women. What she says maybe true.......but ultimately every challenge we face in life can be addressed by attempting to make ourselves better and stronger. Yes...tell of the things fighting against you...but ultimately do all you can do to make yourself better and stronger. That is your direct sphere of influence.

The conservatives attempt to caste aspersion with their buzz word of "victim" is ironic and hilarious at the same time as conservatives are relentless in claiming and asserting that blacks and America are both being VICTIMIZED by liberalism. Indeed, if blacks were to listen to the right (or should I say the "wrong") they would see themselves as no less victims because if they heed what the right is saying....the right is saying that blacks are being VICTIMIZED by the left. If not for liberalism, according to the right, blacks would be alright. Sounds like BLAMING to me. Sounds like you are saying they are VICTIMS to me.
With the left saying that blacks are victims and the right saying blacks are victims.....why should not blacks see themselves as victims...lol.....but not seeing what you see gets interpreted as being less intelligent. Well....you see us as VICTIMS....so that must mean we are of equal intelligence on this one.
i never claimed that blacks in America are VICTIMIZED by racism. so you just vomited up all that bile for nothing.

Maybe because:
1) in most cases a weight problem can be overcome
2) there is no evidence linking racism to weight problems
If you have evidence post it. Your repeating it over and over a million times doesn't qualify as evidence.
Most black AND white women are overweight due to an unhealthy lifestyle. They eat the wrong food, eat too much food, and don't exercise on a regular basis. There's evidence of this - so it's fact.

There's no end to this. We live in retarded times. Let's just split the country in two; we sane ones will have our own nation, and the progressives, those who have 75 pronouns, those who think eight year old kids should be shot up with hormones, those who want open borders, those who hate Christianity but love Islam, those who think cops are all homicidal killers but should be the only ones to carry guns, those who want to get rid of prisons, those who want total income distribution....they can have their own nation.
Don't forget the young drag queens in gay strip clubs lol...
White supreeeeeeeeemacy being used way too much as a convenient crutch nowadays

Exactly. Big mama needs to put down the bonbons and stop blaming Whitey and Trump. Does she realize we’re all laughing at her?
I am not going to insult the woman because she is big. I question her excuses for being big. In this day and age it is usually by choice. With gastric bypass surgeries and good diet and fitness routine it can usually b e controlled. She jumped on the race bandwagon. Why not? It seems like everyone else is doing it and successfully. Whites like Biden and Hillary are self haters. Works for them. Blacks like Waters and my always favorite Shiela Jackson Lee do it and no one complains.
We hear about shaming. The left will denounce it, unless they are doing it to ridicule Trump, then it's ok. The right does it and I am guilty of it too. Either embrace your plus size or do something about. The choice is yours. Blaming others and blaming Trump isn't going to fix your problem.
It really is simple math. Take in 1500 calories and burn 1600 you won't have any calories to store as fat. Walk 10,000 steps a day.. Start there. no need for running, jogging or iron man workouts. Looking at some people in the video complaining, I think if they walk 10,000 steps a week that would be a lot.
