The state of Israel? Why don't we just count that as part of the reparations that the Muslims owe for running the most brutal and massive slave trade in human history?
The whole point of the thread was to discuss reparations for slavery. If anyone owes reparations for brutal slavery, the entire Muslim world surely does. Giving up a tiny scrap of land sure as hell doesn't cover all the reparations they owe!! Not even close!!

I don't think this will hold up once the country because minority white with a massive percentage of poor non-whites because a major political party has appealed to people with racial grievance politics.

I brought it up because the claim was made that blacks are behind due solely to persecution and bigotry, and that's why they need special treatment (via lower standards) to get into college. My point was that you can't blame persecution and bigotry, because Jews have also suffered it, and they rose above it via good choices. The point is that blacks don't need special treatment.....they are fully capable of getting admitted to college on their own merit, as demonstrated by the Jews.
Why is that so hard to understand? It's because you resent the Jews for being successful, despite all the bigotry they have - and continue to - endure.

This is what really changed my views and helped me to better understand the African-American experience. It’s when I really stepped back and really studied for myself the various experiences within the African diaspora and others that my perspective broadened. It seems simple but it makes such a difference. AAs were always here and never had a chance to regroup outside of whites. Many other groups did. Mine certainly did to a significant extent. Yet AAs not only fought through but made a way for so many others to be here. So for her to try and play the oppression olympics is completely ignorant and pathetic. The experiences are significantly different.
Been to any Africans countries lately? A relative has. Many of them. He is considering moving to Botswana.
Maybe "reparations" should consist of a one-way ticket for anyone who wants one then and $100,000 -- minus the cost of twelve years of education and any other public benefits received.

Hispanics are a broad linguistic grouping but most in this country are not of African origin but rather mestizo (European/Amerindian). What makes you think they are going to be in favor of reparations or all Democrat for that matter?
