You can spin it all you want to defend homosexuality but if you believe in God
marriage is covenant between a man and a woman that become one flesh. The marriage of homosexuals and lesbians, men with men and women with women, is an abomination against God and a perversion against nature.
Not true. Civil unions are not federally recognized. A civil marriage is what carries the same rights and benefits, but that was denied to same sex couples until a few years ago. The religious ceremony is just an add on, if you only have a religious ceremony with no civil marriage license you are not legally married.
then civil unions could and should be federally recognized.
I feel certain that folks got married for centuries before any license was created.

The number of Gays and Lesbians is so small it is insignificant. If it makes them happy, I am fine with it. We're talking about 1% of the population, so who cares what they do? Just don't try to normalize it to my kids in School, Media, Social Media and Entertainment like they are doing.
Why?
Why not normalize it?
Why do we want generations of people growing up with this ridiculous belief that gay people are "wrong" or "weird" or "unnatural"?
So many people who call themsevles "Christians" would be the very ones condeming Jesus if he came back today. They are more about Old Testament vengenge than New Testament love. Love your neighbor, your enemy, don't judge, be generous, etc. That's why you see so much hate from them. Remember, Jesus hung out with the sinners and had no use for the rich or the self-righteous.
Kinda funny how the same arguments that completely failed to work against interfaith and interracial marriage are now completely failing to work against gay marriage, isn't it?
I have no problem with interfaith, interracial, or Gay marriage. I made no argument against Gay marriage, don't know where you are getting that. If you and your "partner" are happy, knock yourself out. I wish you the best!!
Marriage is not a covenant before the sky friend of your choice. It is, at its heart, a business transaction. It is a contract to ensure passage of property, title and assets between generations, and to hopefully build that asset base and legitimize future heirs to those assets.
Republicans doesn't believe in separation of church and state. They actually do believe that evangelical "born again" Christianity, it's rules, and social norms should be enforced under the law. That's one of the biggest reasons Trump remains so popular.
Perhaps in parts (or maybe all) of Oklahoma, but not in coastal California, nor in many other parts of the USA (and no, I'm not a Republican).
