In a sense he has no choice. He's just a regular dude that should never have been in that position and Trump and the State Dept. left him hanging...won't even give him notes, etc.
Yeah, but Trump doesn't "know him very well. I have not spoken to him much. This is not a man I know well. He seems like a nice guy though".
Sondland is a complete mess. He contradicts himself every other sentence, invents conversations that never happened, and offers “guesses” that have been refuted on the record by every witness w/ first-hand knowledge. And this is the best witness Dems have?
Pretty soon, you can trash trump's entire administration and and state employees.
Ambassador Sondland: “I don’t recall President Trump ever talking to me about any security assistance. Ever.”
Again, here's where I have the biggest problem with disputing the aid - investigation link.
Trump: Aid was not withheld because of the announcement of an investigation into Biden or the DNC server.
Democrats: OK, why was it withheld?
Trump: (crickets)
If this were simply a misunderstanding as to why the aid was suspended, it would be as easy as pie for the White House to release contemporaneous documents evidencing that fact and undercut this entire impeachment proceeding.
Ukrainian government officials tried to help Hillary Clinton and undermine Trump by publicly questioning his fitness for office. They also disseminated documents implicating a top Trump aide in corruption and suggested they were investigating the matter, only to back away after the election. And they helped Clinton’s allies research damaging information on Trump and his advisers, a Politico investigation found.
This is all that is needed from this " witness" . The vast majority of what has been " testimony " in this Dog And Pony Show" marathon would never be allowed in a Court of Law. Witnesses would not be permitted to testify regarding matters as to which they have no personal knowledge and no basis of admissible evidence.
Sondland testified: “I never heard from President Trump that aid was conditioned on an announcement" of investigations. He said he never personally heard Trump discuss preconditions. And at one point, he confirmed Trump told him, "I want nothing."
Once again, another witness that was never directly told by POTUS to do anything Impeachable.
Adam should fold the tents and start setting up for the next Extravaganza.
