The question is: did trump want nothing? The answer is "no" according to the white house transcript containing the details of the favors trump wanted from Ukraine.
Specifically during the Sondland - Trump call: "Tell [Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskiy] to do the right thing.” And we all know what Trump thought "the right thing" was - what Trump wanted. The details of which had been repeatedly relayed to Zelensky.
You "knew" President Trump was lying even before you knew there was ever going to be a hearing. Bias
Trump has told thousands of verifiable lies over the past few years, viewing anything he says with suspicion is simply prudent.
“There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again.”
Sondland has trouble remembering too. Nevertheless, in the end he stated Trump implicitly said he wanted no Quid Pro Quo. Trump has been innocent the whole time.
No he did not implicitly state that. He explicitly said there was.
And let us remember the very FIRST time Trump said "no quid pro" was the day this entire affair was exposed.
"...Ambassador Gordon Sondland testified Wednesday more bluntly than he had before that President Trump and his personal lawyer, Rudolph W. Giuliani, sought to condition a White House invite for Ukraine’s new president to their demands that his country publicly launch investigations that could damage Trump’s political opponents....
“I know that members of this committee have frequently framed these complicated issues in the form of a simple question: Was there a ‘quid pro quo?’ ” Sondland said in sworn testimony. “With regard to the requested White House call and White House meeting, the answer is yes...”

Maybe President Trump and President Zelenskiy communicated via telepathy. In which case only the demolibs knew the lies because they heard it themselves because they're tuned to the same frequency.
Trump was very Trump. He stated the truth of what Sondland said he told him. Trump told Sondland he wanted no Quid Pro Quo. There was none.
Uh huh. Like I said a mob boss never expressly says what he wants. Just winks and nods. Why else was the money not released in a timely manner? He damn sure wanted something.

I’m pretty sure anyone with at least half a brain knew Trump was lying. Whether or not they’re willing to admit it depends on how willing they are to look like a fool.
Same line that he used for Lev Parnas, whose fingers along with Rudy Giuliani's are all over this mess.
You know, it really doesn't matter how well you know them - but what your business with them was.
That Trump even frames it like this demonstrates the narcissism that pervades both his Ukraine 'diplomacy' and his speech patterns.
