That's the liberals' approach to any problem: make it legal, or get the rich to pay for it.

Not particularly left wing. Just would like to see the problem fixed. The right does not have any rational plan to do so. That is the truth even though some of you find it unpleasant.

It is unfortunate that the right has gotten so far from the truth.

And yes we need to fix this before it gets worse.

OP needs to read, understand and then explain this to all of us:
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-u...-idUSKCN1V90TX

Short summary - Americans are LESS "fearful" of immigration as Trump and his "30% base" become more rabid toward it. The VAST majority of Americans support paths to citizenship and approve of immigrants and immigration.

If this polling is correct - and it does align with many others - selling hate in 2020 will be just a tad more difficult. Sure, the certain CD crowd who are Trump followers will never change, but polls are showing that they haven't grown in numbers...and, in fact, they have shrunken.

Of course, I don't expect white nationalists to believe these polls. That's a given.

"people who rejected racial stereotypes were more interested in voting in the 2020 general election than those who expressed stronger levels of anti-black or anti-Hispanic biases.

In 2016, it was the reverse. The Reuters analysis shows that Trump’s narrow win came at a time when Americans with strong anti-black opinions were the more politically engaged group"

67% of Americans support that idea and Reagan was the last POTUS to do it by the millions.

I think you are worried that you won't be able to point the finger and say "they aren't paying taxes" any more...sorta takes the wind outa your balloon.

But look at the poll referenced above. It's not even close - a vast majority of Americans support a path to citizenship and decent immigration policy.

And, I suppose if you polled it (hard to do), 80% of Americans or more would say that actual law coming out of the Congress for the long term would be the positive step forward.

But, again, the existing situation gives that other 20% or 30% lots to complain about.

Americans have not really changed on the issue. Fake news and Facebook targeting and Russian propaganda just brought a few too many haters out of the woodwork in 2016. But, as mentioned, even in the time of Reagan these ideas were mainstream...that is, America being the land of immigrants and opportunity.

There needs to be a zero tolerance policy towards illegal immigrants and illegal immigration in the United States.

Maybe a Constitutional amendment is in order.

New laws or amendments will do no good. We do not support and will not support the expenses and structures needed to remove the present illegal alien population. Fact of life.

So the choices are cut the problem to a size we can deal with or live with the problem forever.

You completely missed my point.
