You really don't know that all sorts of stuff is regularly attached to bills - some of which has really nothing to do with the actual meat of the bill? Wow. Read up on it.

Anyway, one thing that was attached was that the savings were only applied back into Medicare programs - so there is no actual savings to the American tax payer. I'm sure there's more but that's a pretty big thing to some tax payers.

If true, that would help keep Medicare solvent, wouldn't it?

It's solvent anyway.

I would bet that just about every single federal entity could do with some cuts. I've never seen a government agency that didn't have a lot of waste and incompetence attached to it.

Would like to see one of two things happen in the SOTU address.
1. Everyone holds all applause or boos until after the address is complete
2. Everyone, regardless of political party, applaud those things which they feel are good for the nation as a whole even if they feel it’s bad for their party’s future elections.

Instead we get a pep rally for the party of the president and the opposing party looking like sour puss even for things they know are good for the country.
I love your idea as far as decorum is concerned, and to see it applied regardless of who is President or what party they're from. It would be one small step (of the numerous that are needed) towards seeing more civil, effective, and ethical that works for the good of the USA.

One has to remember what position we are talking about here.

Did she do it for whatever personal reason she had.........or as a representative of the American people?

If in the latter, then she is as irresponsible as Bush the II when he declared that a foreign politican insulted him and he was going to commit the country to war.

Being in such a position, one cannot let personal feelings guide them.

Trump lets that happen all the damn time and the Republicans let him get away with it.
