Frankly, in terms of Corona, I think US citizens traveling to Latin America are more of a problem/threat than Latin Americans traveling to the US. If I were Mexico I would already have closed the border.
I would simply ban flights from all of Latin America, South America, etc, be they boarded by natives, Americans, or Martians.
The above articles describe lockdowns in various Chinese cities, states (i.e. provinces), and even small villages and neighborhoods.
Travel restrictions, bans for crossing into another province, bans for leaving a city, for leaving your neighborhood, roadside checkpoints, even restrictions or bans against leaving your house to go shopping or go to work. In many cases you have to get permission from officials (or from the local Communist Party) to go someplace. These are all happening right now in China, and have been for weeks.
As I asked in the OP:
1.) Might this be coming soon to the United States? We have coronavirus too.
2.) SHOULD it come to the United States?
3.) Is it LEGAL to implement this sort of thing in the United States? Remember that the Constitution gives the Fed only limited powers... but the States are allowed to do much of what the Fed can't.
4.) If we DON'T do this in the United States, how many more people would die than if we DID do it?

Trump wanted travel bans early on, but the loony tune left said that was racist and stood in the way. Now lefties are calling Americans racist for not eating enough Chinese food. Nobody takes far lefty criticism of Trump (or anything else) seriously, because no matter what Trump does, the same people will whine and cry orange man bad. Nobody is listening anymore.
The sad thing is, Trump could actually do some terrible, awful, evil things if he wanted to, and he would get away with it. Equally funny how they called him "xenophobic" and "racist" for enacting travel bans that kept an uncounted number of infected people out of this country-and undoubtedly saved American lives. And how they can try to stuff a line item for taxpayer funded abortion in a "emergency" bill aimed at protecting Americans from Coronavirus.
