This avoids the problem with under-reporting due to any number of logistical or social factors.
Also avoids patting countries on the back taht get lots of cases due to lousy control of the spread but that have fewer deaths due to having a younger population.
Trying to infer anything until the disease starts to taper off is especially problematic, the nursing home deaths around Seattle would be exhibit A. It would be like looking at the first 10 games of the baseball season and predicting a lot of things without having any prior knowledge of teams or player stats.
If this has already been responded to I apologize. That is not how the fatality rate is calculated. It is:
deaths/number of cases. Now I'd be the first to agree, we don't have solid numbers for either variable. I do agree with the bold. I'm a baseball fan from way back.
Charleston just had their big food and wine festival where folks from all over come to wine and dine...of all things...and we are still sitting at one. And that person was a health professional who has been in isolation for almost tow weeks.
SC changed their monitoring page. We now have a map of the state with counties and dots to indicate which county has infections.
Case number can be pretty misleading. The younger the country, the lower the case because most people probably won't need to visit the hospital to treat their symptoms.
Vaccines against pneumonia, such as pneumococcal vaccine and Haemophilus influenza type B (Hib) vaccine, do not protect against coronavirus, which is a newly discovered virus with no vaccine or cure to date, according to the World Health Organization.
If you have the pneumonia vaccine, will that help prevent the incidence of getting pneumonia if you catch coronavirus
I believe the answer was no, and I think it was Suzy who addressed it, but I do not remember the specifics.
But don't quote me on any of it.

Treatment for HIV is reported to show promise in treating patients with Covid-19. I read a couple of stories from people in China who said they were getting worse daily until they received the HIV treatment. Now I recently read an article from Australia where scientists are saying the same.
