Still no vaccine for HIV, but drugs are pretty effective against it for treatment.
My point exactly. Viruses aren’t that well understood. Fauci is right to caution us. It may not just go away. We are hoping for a vaccine, but there’s no guarantees. I’m optimistic we’ll get it, but realistically if HIV can merely be managed, then maybe this one has a shot at merely being managed, too.
2. Our population is quite large compared to most countries, so a 1:1 comparison with the numbers is disingenuous, at best. A better comparison would be the number of cases as a percentage of the population. There still leaves the issue of the numbers only representing confirmed cases, not the actual number of people infected.
3. You can't believe the numbers from China.
I have no reason to believe that China is lying and you have no proof that they are.
China put health controls in place that would be near impossible here:
#1 - Coronavirus testing was easily accessible and free.
#2 - China built new hospitals in a rush, with workers toiling night and day to get them done.
They have the ability to build 2 hospitals in over a week...
There hasn't been a lot of talk about it, and I don't know a lot about it, but reinfection is a thing. Something to do with the antibodies not persisting. Prognosis for those reinfected isn't good.
The key is to not get it, if at all possible, and hope science sorts it out quickly.
There's still a lot they don't know about this. They're learning more every day, though, with all the effort going into it.
I have a lot of faith in the ability of a large group of people to solve big problems quickly, when properly motivated. I'd say people are pretty motivated right now.
What you said, they still don’t know much about it, will make me hesitant to run out and get the vaccine. It will have been a rush to create. Based on the numbers, I would take my chances.
I’m not confident one will come out. There are many other viruses that still have no vaccine.
Anyone else against IMF loaning Iran the $5 billion it is requesting.
I would be surprised if they spent event a quarter of that on this.
Their supreme leader is a radical fanatic and I believe he would use it for military, nuclear, terrorism, ect.

So there is a silver lining to this whole coronavirus thing after all...
We can only hope that Rand Paul sneezed on Pelosi before he went into lockdown.
That is...I have no words for what kind of person would say such a horrible thing.
