We nuked 2 Japanese cities in the 1940s. We were buying so much Japanese goods in the 1950s that “made in Japan” became a meme. EVERYTHING BLOWS OVER.
The bubonic plague blew over. Covid-19 is just a tornado. It will do damage. Some people will die. The vast majority of people will recover and rebuild the damage and will be partying and enjoying life again in short order.
Yet somehow in wuhan where they are packed on top of each other like sardines they were able to beat this in 2 months.
Stop with the babble, you’re as bad as Madcow and all her buddies.
Wuhan as roughly twelve million people the U.S has give or take 327 million people big difference not to mention we got people here going on spring break, etc. Feel free to join them.
Humanity will in a large part forget. NYC will be wall-to-wall as will China. Maybe remote buying, delivery service etc. will grow from this. Sports will continue and 100K will show up for a NCAA FB game. Things will appear much closer to normal than not. Hopefully what we'll take out of this historical global event will simply be that we'll be much better prepared for the next one.
US is also testing the most, and has 350,000,000 people!
China, where it started, has 1.7 Billion people...far more than here, yet we've now surpassed them in case count.
Of course the Orange man in the White House said it was under control and cases going down just a month ago.
It all hinges on how quickly they can develop an effective vaccine. There's a **** ton of effort going into that right now, so I expect it will be sooner, rather than later. How soon is still a mystery, though.
Even if they have one now, it will take months of trials to verify it's effective. My guess is it will be at least 18 months before we have a vaccine that everyone is able to get.
The scariest thing is that a lot of the research suggests this is going to be a seasonal virus, which means infections will come in waves...we could have a month or 2 with little to no new infections and think we're passed it only to get crushed by another wave a few months later.
