People always bring up the "well it was worse for blacks" gaslight. It's cheap, and insinuates that's what we are refereeing to (you see, they really mean THEY LIKED BLACKS IN CHAINS). It's weak, and totally dishonest.
But anyways, the very small amount of blacks in my state in the 60s were treated fine. People from the Deep South I suppose can speak for themselves.
Really? In the 60s? Black people in your state back then protested repeatedly against discrimination in general and particularly by police.
The fact that any liberal anywhere would say this is okay, with a,straight face, just goes to show you how detached from reality liberalism now is. Unreal.
It’s easy for atheists (and I am one) to complain about Christianity, because it’s the predominant faith and it’s practitioners aren’t tied to a particular ethnicity. Sorry if I sound like an Islamophobe but I don’t want any religious nonsense broadcast in the public square, whether it’s this, Jewish prayers, Christian prayers, Hindi, Zoroastrianism, Norse paganism or any other religion. It’s not enough that the city isn’t paying for it. It shouldn’t be allowed because no religion should be in the public square.
Bring it up as a noise ordinance violation then. However religion in the public square is protected speech- unless you don't like the Constitution that is.
But it's OK for atheists to have to listen to church bells, right? For the past 200 years.
It is for this atheist - I'm not losing sleep over a musical non prayer call to churches or mosques, but if I had to listen to broadcast christian prayers, against my will, I'd have no compunction firebombing the offending church.
It just signals the arrival of people who brought us Mohammad, the Slaver, the Murderer, the child Molester
