Just crank up the stereo with the speakers pointing out the window. Maybe play this just to start it off.

Why shouldnt we hate the institition that brought us 9/11? Whose practitioners mostly want sharia law, where people are stoned to death and gays are hung? Where women are required to wear the burkha and walk 5 steps behind? Islam stands for oppression.

1. I don’t mind the Islamic call to prayer as long as they must abide by the same noise restrictions placed upon Christian churches. Some communities have set decibel restrictions as well as time restrictions. Some churches have silenced their mechanical bells and switched to electronic bells broadcast through loudspeakers so their volume can be adjusted to meet new laws and regulations.
2. I don’t mind if Islamic mosque hold services. What I don’t want is for local and state authorities as well as news media to give them a pass after attacking and harassing Christian churches that held services. I doubt we’ll see the news coverage of mosque holding Ramadan services like they did for the few Christian churches that held services.

This is a street view of 6th street, just east of Cedar Ave, and about a block from the mosque. Single family homes all over just east and south of that mosque. Definitely mixed zoning use with residential included.

Riverside West is the subsidized apt complex just west of the mosque, with 1300+ units and is about 70-80% Somali. I doubt the other 20% is keen on listening to the call of prayer at 5 times a day, 365 days a year. I had an older family member that lived there in the 80's we would visit. I doubt I would go there for any reason now, it has gotten really dodgy since the late 90's.
This is where the speaker is. Keep in mind that the audio level is Mpls noise ordinance compliant

Personally, I find the Muslim call to prayer beautiful...soothing.

And what about those who don't?

No it is not. That is blocks away.

It is at 504 Cedar Avenue South, Minneapolis

Here:

This is within a half block of residential single family homes, just like I linked to before.

And it is a speaker system going in, not just a speaker. The ones I have seen are usually 4-10 speakers each.

As it is indeed close to residential homes, the entire premise is the volume.

How loud is it allowed for that mixed use zoning? That is key, but no details given.

They have gone rounds with this in Dearborn, Michigan also, and the main issue is the pre dawn call, and the post dusk call. Local residents there have had real quality of life issues with a 5 times a day loudspeaker blast near their homes. Would you want that?

And what you just said is just as prejudiced as telling a Jew that he could use the Christian Lord Prayer’s to remind him of his puny existence.
Or a prejudiced as an atheist, Muslim, Jew, Jain, Hindu, Buddhist, or Taoist having to listen to church bells. After all, America is not a Christian nation.
