Not all liberals are snowflakes; not all conservatives aren't snowflakes.

As long as they're getting permits and not violating noise ordinances, I'm fine with either Christians clattering their bells or Muslims doing their chants. Both could be a nuisance but then they're also important to some people who believe in that sort of thing so it's a balance of the noise pollution versus that religious importance. So while I might not get the same warm fuzzies hearing Christians clatter their bells that some do, as long as they're not at horrendous volumes and clattering constantly I can just deal with it.

This is a street view of 6th street, just east of Cedar Ave, and about a block from the mosque. Single family homes all over just east and south of that mosque. Definitely mixed zoning use with residential included.

Riverside West is the subsidized apt complex just west of the mosque, with 1300+ units and is about 70-80% Somali. I doubt the other 20% is keen on listening to the call of prayer at 5 times a day, 365 days a year. I had an older family member that lived there in the 80's we would visit. I doubt I would go there for any reason now, it has gotten really dodgy since the late 90's.
The place is next to Palmers, if that’s still there. Not among a bunch of houses.

Serious question. Why do you feel that is the case? Why would people who identified as conservative, shift their views? What would be the catalyst?

The nation is also as divided as ever.
Ever thought what why many people started identifying with the left? Ever thought about the catalysts which would make that happen?

Meh, not a big deal when it's happening in a plural Muslim neighborhood, known as "Little Mogadishu". A tiny one of just half a square mile at that, sandwiched between a major expressway and Mississippi River. I imagine you would have to be specifically in that area to hear it.

The neighborhood, which is called Cedar Riverside or the West Bank is immediately east of downtown. It is mixed. The last I looked at the numbers it is a bit less than half black, most of which is Somali, and then a mix of white, Asian, African American black and latino. The area is also next to the University of Minnesota. It is about half immigrants, half students. Most of the stores on the main commercial street are Somali businesses so it is a magnet for Somalis from other parts of the city to do their shopping and congregate which probably makes it seem more Somali than it is. Nearly every storefront that isn't a Somali business is a bar or something geared towards students, which is kind of a funny mix.

This is the area on streetview:

pop. 8,094 (2010)

Racial & Ethnic makeup, 2010

45% Black or African American(mostly Somali as you say)
37.1% white(non-hispanic)
10.9% Asian or PI
3.5% Hispanic
2.8% mixed-race
0.5% Amerindian
0.2% other race

This nation was ALWAYS divided, on political lines, racial and ethnic lines, class lines. Division has been in America from day #1.
