Burning and looting isn’t going to change that. Ever.

The change has to come from within. No more crime, looting, rioting, shooting. No more calling the cops for a forged money note or house party. As blacks we have to give these cops no reason to come into these communities.

Cops are not going to change, ever. Because the judicial system doesn’t work against cops. We have to change.
How do we (including blacks like you and me, who don't live in Black neighborhoods) have to change?

Everyone is on George Floyd's side, 99% of the people anyway. That cop murdered him in cold blood. When the protests turn into riots though, people are put off. This happens far too often and it's a dirty rotten shame.

That's how things go in Minneapolis.
That’s how it should go too , he’ll lose his pension also .

to the degree that it will stop giving protestors a reason to gather, yes.

but the rioters and looters aren't doing this because the officers weren't arrested. they were opportunistically using the gathering and the heightened emotions as an excuse to loot.

Unemployment rates started dropping in 2012 and kept dropping into 2017. But here is the thing. It isn't evenly distributed. Milwaukee had a riot in 2016. Milwaukee has one of the poorest Black populations in the USA, as well as one of the highest Black unemployment rates in the country. Memphis isn't much better (riot occurred there in 2019). Baltimore is basically an east coast Detroit with high unemployment rates.

Right now, the states with the lowest Black unemployment rates: New Mexico, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Rhode Island, Washington state, Virginia, Maryland (the rest of the state obviously makes up for Baltimore).

That's not how it should go. He should get a much longer sentence.

I really wish someone, actually, many someones, had called 911 on the cops in this situation. We see this video going on and on and on. Call 911, tell them there's a crowd watching as a police officer is killing someone, and if they don't get more cops out there, there is going to be a riot. Every person out there with a phone, call 911. Businesses there with store clerks watching out the window, call 911. Just because the police are already there, doesn't mean that more police can't be called, that other police officers wouldn't have stopped this. I think the officer with his knee on Floyd's neck kept it there in part because he thought he was doing his job and no one was going to tell him how to do it. He was determined that he was in charge.

This is pretty much it. I heard Leo Terrell on the radio talking about this. He's a black civil rights attorney and he was saying the same thing, 99 percent of people he knows and has talked to say this is just awful and no one is disputing that too much force was used.

He too say the same thing, all of the rioting and looting becomes the story and people lose sight of the bigger story. I said similar up thread.

How does looting, rioting and destroying your community bring justice for anyone?

Well, they tried peacefully by kneeling and you racist MFers had a problem with that too.
