I would love for Twitter to ban Trump over this whole thing. The entertainment value here is endless.
It is better if they let him post, and fact check as necessary.
If they ban him, he wins. That's what he wants.
If they let him post, but freely post the truth with facts to back it, he will have no other recourse than to continue throwing tantrums. If the court upholds a government ability to restrict free speech (if they let him shut them down), we are done as a nation.
According to Reuters, Trump will be signing an executive order on this very matter. Details to follow.
What an idiotic waste of time.
Now especially.
Apparently his beef is there is a bias against conservative viewpoints on the internet and large, well trafficked sites.
It doesn't take much work to find all kinds of little conservative cesspools lurking about cyberspace (I cheerful submit this very place being one) so there's certainly no lack of content out there. That being the case I guess we're left with conundrum that if those viewpoints were widely held, the sites would be on par in size and popularity with Twitter/Facebook/et.al but because they aren't... well they aren't.
Not that different than the Con's crying about late night talk show hosts all being liberals. I can guarantee, if there were a conservative host that brought in the same or more greater revenue to the networks than the current bunch, they would be on the air in a snap. Want a massive conservative voice online or on TV? Open your wallet and do it yourself, no one is stopping you. Otherwise, resign yourself that the market has spoken.
How ridiculous. They are fact checking Trumps opinion against 'opinion pieces' by people who have their own agendas. There are no FACTS in this FACT CHECK and I hope Twitter comes to it's senses.
This infuriates me to no end. There are countless Chinese ambassadors and politicians on twitter claiming the U.S. military brought the virus to Wuhan, why aren't they banned.
the CCP partially owns twitter and is now trying to sway public opinion.
this is bad.
and people forget WE elected Donald J. Trump. We the american people went to the poll booth and voted in trump.
Trump was elected through a fair democratic process, and now we want to censor him by a company partially owned by the CCP/
Now Twitter is a publisher. They will have to be deemed as much because the other option is to allow anyone to post warnings.
Only publishers can unilaterally administer warnings. Passively administrated forums either have to allow anyone to post a warning or not edit / annotate user-posted information.
Liberals don't want that done for propaganda involving their issues. At the grassroots level, conservatives are much better at social media.
Twitter will eventually be deemed a publisher and the lawsuits will pour in. If not now, then eventually. Maybe the government will stall that act enough to allow the owners to cash out at a higher stock price, but changing the protected status of social media companies given how they censor their platforms is an eventuality.

Trump is talking about censorship (representation of ideas). You're talking about usership (representation by demography).
There's no problem with demography in social media.
Trump should be doing real presidential work for all the people and not acting like a bully or child.
Good lord give him a lollipop and send him out to the park to play on the merry-go-round or in the sand box.
