It is better if they let him post, and fact check as necessary.
If they ban him, he wins. That's what he wants.
If they let him post, but freely post the truth with facts to back it, he will have no other recourse than to continue throwing tantrums. If the court upholds a government ability to restrict free speech (if they let him shut them down), we are done as a nation.
I think you fundamentally misunderstand what he's likely to do. The only thing Trump would have to do to completely destroy Twitter is to have their Section 130 protections taken away since they are operating as a publisher rather than a platform. Doing so would in no way restrict anyone's free speech, it would merely be applying the law accurately to Twitter. If they want Section 130 protections, they can make the relevant changes and dedicate themselves to being a platform rather than a publisher.....and they'd have to stop editorializing and censoring people in order to do that.
Free country, right? Trump is free to take his tweets elsewhere. I have a few suggestions too.
That's what so many Trump supporters fail to realize.
Trump's Twitter account is in no way, shape, or form, an official outlet for the President. Twitter can do whatever they want to with Trump's Twitter account, because they're a private corporation.
If Trump and his followers have a problem, then delete your Twitter profiles and use another social media platform.

Free speech wins if Trump slaps around Twitter.
I assume you mean section 230 protections. If trump took that away, twitter would surely have to ban trump!
Quote:
Section 230 protect a blog host from liability for “any action voluntarily taken in good faith to restrict access to or availability of material that the provider or user considers to be obscene, lewd, lascivious, filthy, excessively violent, harassing, or otherwise.

They are absolutely free to do whatever they want.....but there are consequences to acting as a publisher rather than a platform, and Twitter should face those consequences. They are well within their rights to censor or editorialize content they publish, but they can't call themselves a platform when they choose to do so.

We'll see how much they like life as a publisher.
Can trump rewrite laws made by congress?
