Maybe instead we should be arguing about how dealing with a global pandemic got to be a partisan issue? Don't we all want the same thing: not to get sick?

DeSantis speaks out of both sides of his mouth. Bars never reopened down here, and restaurants are operating only partially.

There is no need to re-close everything if people were better informed and knew how to avoid infection on their own. The politicians were reckless when they declared the pandemic was over.

I feel like I've heard that story somewhere else...

Weren't the US's numbers so small they could barely be considered a blip? It was just going to go away since we were near zero. Yet here we are now... 4% of the world's population having 27% of the world's coronavirus cases and deaths.

One of my neighbors is a restaurant owner. She scraped by for 2.5 months by laying off her wait staff and having just herself and a family member run the business (take-out only). She told me her concern about reopening was the money she'd have to lay out up-front coupled with hiring new staff and training them.

She reopened for modified dine-in (checkerboard seating, take-out containers only). She just cut back her staff again. With the spike we are seeing in SC (similar to TX), patrons are staying away. Her conscience tells her she should close dine-in, but her wallet is telling her to keep it going as long as possible. She laid out a lot of money in food that is going to spoil if she can't sell plates to the customer.

You have no idea how absurd you sound when you push the 'global conspiracy to hurt Trump' conspiracy theories.

It would be nice.

But it will never happen.

Not when the Left has a vested interest in keeping things shut down to artificially dump on what was the best economy in the history of the Country.

November is coming and they NEED the virus to be apocalyptic.

You would think, but when the other side thinks the whole thing is only a conspiracy to hurt their president, it becomes a mission impossible, because they will never listen.

When did I say it was global or a conspiracy?

The virus is real.

But so is the despicable way that the Left and the Media have been using it as a political weapon since day one.

And you apparently have no idea how absurd that you sound denying it.

Absolutely they were. Republican governors felt so much pressure from Trump to reopen, they may have unnecessarily killed thousands of their constituents.

As medical experts across the country hammered the message that it was too soon to reopen, most of the states with republican governors were among the first to reopen. And surprise -- those states are seeing record-high new covid cases.

The incompetence of the GOP is unmatched.

When you say things like your last sentence above and then this one:

While not saying it directly, it sounds like you believe this is a political conspiracy. While you think "the left" may want things shut down; honestly, everyone I know on the left does not feel that way at all and doesn't like the economy or their own job loss. But they happen to place a higher priority on the health aspect of the pandemic them others do. That doesn't make it a political weapon or conspiracy but your statements sure sound like it does.
