Exactly. This is Asheville finally investing in their Black population

I just dont understand...how many people today are slaves? My father was first American born in my family, we had no,slaves. So are we responsible for something that happened so long ago? So do you believe in reparations?
"The reparations won’t come in the form of direct payments to black residents — instead, investments will be made in areas that see racial disparities, the Citizen Times said."

That won't be good enough. Blacks will want cash on the barrel. Who can blame them?

Yes many times over. The city has been headed downhill ever since it first started trying to be the San Francisco of the East years ago. It isn't nearly as nice as it was in the 80s.

I have some questions now about how this reparation thing will work and I may have more questions later after I ponder over it awhile.

1. Will each individual have to prove they are a descendant of black American slaves?

2. What is the least amount of black slave blood a person can have in order to receive reparations? If somebody is 1/16th black and that person can prove he or she is a descendant of black American slaves, will he or she be eligible to receive benefits from reparations? How about somebody is 1/32nd or 1/64th black, or 1/128th black?

If a black person who was born and raised in say Detroit with no history or ties to North Carolina but moves to Asheville next week on a whim, will that person be eligible for reperations?

Asheville is the NYC of North Carolina. It's surrounded by a sea of red. If I ever wanted a laugh I went to Asheville. Place is a hoot.

Investing in poor black communities is nothing new.

Calling it reparations is false in a political sense, but then again the naming of the program is political in nature.

Its also not very specific.

Reparations for people who weren't slaves from people who didn't own them and weren't even related to slave owners.

It's pure theft.

"Investing" in poor Black communities is worthless. Its a Black hole. The individuals in those communities have enough federal programs available to allow each one to become a doctor of medicine if they do the work and help themselves.

Why? Unless you are a Holocaust survivor or a former Japanese prisoner in a containment camp, you’re not entitled to a cent.
