Knowing how the relations between Russia and China are since the Sino-Soviet split of the early 1950s and even before that, I'm not surprised.

Edit: I begin to ponder if life will imitate art? Jack London and Tom Clancy had written novels about China titled "The Unparalleled Invasion" and "The Bear and the Dragon".

China is building a huge amount of infrastructure in the developing world. Roads, dams, factories, etc. I'm not saying China is blameless than they are winning over the developing world while the USA becomes more unpopular.
