It's officially a wrap as far as I'm concerned. Watch the left return to their days of hurling insults at Mittens
Hurling insults from the rabid dem mob is the least of his worries — assualting, harassing his family & associates, his property, doxing his address, pulling him and friends or family out of restaurants, rioting his town, throwing urine bottles and poop at him, etc etc etc
Mitt Romney doesn't seem to know who or what he is. A few months ago, he voted to remove Trump from office. And now he is on board with Trump's Supreme Court pick?
This is beyond RINO. What a confused individual. LOL
It is interesting that the principle that the Republicans hold so dear seems to have popped up almost like a mushroom. There was no such GOP fondness for the constitution in 2016.
hypocrisy:
noun, plural hy·poc·ri·sies.
- a GOP pretense of having a virtuous character, moral or religious beliefs or principles, etc., that one does not really possess.
- a Trumpist pretense of having some desirable or publicly approved attitude.
- a typical Republican act or instance of hypocrisy.
He should, its the law. Anything else is just politics. BTW :I believe the same thing with Merrick Garland he should have gotten his day before the Senate and if they voted him down that would have been fine. This being said what happened with Garland was also the Law as Mitch Mcconnel used the power he has as Majority Leader to keep Garland from getting his vote, I just think its dirty politics. Don't like it change the rules but don't cry later if the rule change hurts you /cough Dems changing rules from 60 to simple majority.
Dem's rule change wasn't for supreme court justices, so this is Republican doing. Also, why did Democrats change the rules in the first place? What was the context? For all of the whining about obstruction I hear from Republicans these days, Republicans took it further during Obama's years.

This is a hilarious example of your hypocrisy, whining about something you were pushing for just 4 years ago.
4 years ago the president nominated someone to fill a SCOTUS seat and there wasn't support in the Senate to confirm them.
Today the president is planning on nominating someone to fill a SCOTUS seat and we'll see if there's support in the Senate to confirm them.
It's the exact same rules as there were then.....you are just upset that you didn't get your way then, and you likely won't get your way now and that's why we see this hypocritical nonsense from you.
Her seat was the last Supreme Court seat prize for probably another 20 years (unless someone retires).
With the way Democrats have been acting, this 6-3 Supreme Court may be the last firewall against whatever nonsense "reformation of the country" that Democrats have planned as they amplify the voices of the Ilhan Omars, AOCs and Rashida Tlaibs of their party.
The constitution will absolutely get in the way of their socialist plans. Much of what they believe in is blatantly unconstitutional. Gun confiscation, suppression of free speech, redistribution of wealth etc. Very little of what they believe in is compatible with the constitution.
Once they have power they will call for a constitutional convention or just throw caution to the wind and declare it null and void. They will craft a new document which promotes their agenda all while claiming it’s a modernization of the old one. The bill of rights will end up looking like the social justice bill of rights. The power will be centralized and the states power gutted. Personal liberties will be curbed.
There is no way around this fact. Either we conservatives give in to their demands and live peacefully in a socialist society, they give up and live by the old rules or the third possibility is that all is decided by a civil war. I do not see either side caving in. Them winning the election will only make it easier for them to claim a mandate to end capitalism but it still will not happen within the bounds of our current constitution. The transformation they desire will eventually be violent as millions of patriots will never accept what they want. Redistribution of wealth is NEVER peaceful. It is very possible the republic will split into 2 or more independent nations.
In short what I am trying to say is that yes getting the court seat seems like a firewall and I support the appointment of a strong conservative to create that firewall but in the end all will be decided far from the courts. In a true horror show the fate of this nation will likely be on on battlefields that will make Gettysburg and Antietam look like picnic grounds. The hate is too strong, the divisions too deep and compromises are now impossible. In my opinion it’s only a matter of time before it comes to a head. Will it be set off by the 2020 election? The last civil war was indeed set off by the election of 1860. Could it be 5 years from now? Yes it could be? Could it be avoided all together? I don’t know. I have a hard time seeing how this all just goes away. All this hate has to go away if we are to avoid a violent conflict. I hope it can be avoided because if it’s allowed to happen we will all regret it.
How do you make radicals give up their dreams? They say 40percent of Americans believe in socialism. How do we get by that? The 245 year old republic of our founding fathers is dying.....for that we should all hang our heads in sorrowful remorse. Our generation oversaw the undoing of this great country....some are contributing to its fall, the rest are powerless to prevent it. In the end we will all be responsible for its destruction.

Pushing the first domino over doesn't technically knock down the 3rd domino, but the person who knocked over the first domino is still responsible for the 3rd falling.
Republicans warned Democrats what would happen if they made that change, Democrats didn't care because they wanted their way and didn't care what they had to do to get it in the short term. Now they are living with those consequences and it's entirely their fault.

We actually don't know that there wasn't support in the Senate. The Senate majority leader made the decision not to bring it to a vote. In fact, by doing so, he shielded Republican Senators who would have had to answer to their constituents voting one way or the other - doesn't that sound like McConnel subverted the will of the people?
