Trump stated he cant release his tax returns in the common sense vernacular that it would be stupid to release them while they are under audit.

Your bad if you interpreted that literally as the deranged leftist media told you you should to mean he literally cannot release them.

The $750 is meant to generate outrage. The real problem is that his taxes are likely legal and all of this is above board. What society are when Trump can deduct, itemize, whittle away, etc., virtually all income taxes relative to his net worth, when I make ~$90k in a regular job, pay many multiples of this in federal income taxes, and cannot shield myself.

He’s legally steering the system to his own benefit. The system is the problem, not necessarily Trump personally.
I don't think you should conclude these write-offs are legal. Many of them are eyebrow-raising to say the least and not the norm for the super rich. The IRS really dropped the ball on not checking things like millions in "consulting fees" out. I'll bet the Times will look into them in more detail.

So where are all the GOPers whining about how the poor pay very little in tax? Yet their billionaire President pays virtually the same amount of taxes as poor people. Home come a middle class professional has to pay $20k a year in income taxes while a billionaire can pay $750? You have to admit that's grossly out of whack, no matter what the tax write-offs one claims.

Gimme a break. I live near Chicago and I know of those who are democrats to the core. They are black, don’t do anything to stop their spread of the virus, if they’re even aware it exists, and have never earned a legal dollar in their life. They collect food stamps, welfare, mooch off every way they can. But they are the democrat base. There are more of these people than you would ever imagine.

Get some new material.

18 Revelations From a Trove of Trump Tax Records
September 27, 2020in News, U.S.

The New York Times has obtained tax-return data for President Trump and his companies that covers more than two decades. Mr. Trump has long refused to release this information, making him the first president in decades to hide basic details about his finances. His refusal has made his tax returns among the most sought-after documents in recent memory.

Among the key findings of The Times’s investigation:

Mr. Trump paid no federal income taxes in 11 of 18 years that The Times examined. In 2017, after he became president, his tax bill was only $750.
Back months ago, there was mention of some NY Lawsuit, that involved getting Trump INC. tax returns, not his personal taxes. Trump said then, that they wanted them only for the reason of releasing them to the public.

.....and here we are.
It is the corporate tax, not his personal tax info..... Which would be a 4th Amendment violation.

You have proof he profited from this china deal? You don't like it when unproven things are said about Trump but then you go and say unproven things about Biden. Biden made millions off of speaking fees and books. I don't like that sort of thing but its legal. He really does not need to do back table deals with his son and China. But again if you have proof. He is not the one who has had numerous people surrounding him indicted. Stone, Manafort, Cohen, Bannon. Should I go on? The poop does not fall far from the cow and Trump is knee deep in it. Yet Biden is the shady one...

Illegals routinely pay more taxes than Trump. I suspect homeless people pay more taxes than Trump in many cases.

Then if the article in the NYT is "fake news" as he claims, it's time for him to prove it. His word, to paraphrase Harry Truman, isn't worth a bucket of warm spit.

Yes people within the government selectively leaking financial records of a citizen to harm them professionally is a totally acceptable precedent to be set right?

Also who gives a damn about how much someone pays in taxes? Everyone on earth pays as little as they are legally obligated to. Real estate in general is a great investment because of depreciation write offs and 1031 exchanges. Most of Trump’s taxes are paid at the local level via property tax.
