I would love to get paid to not work, but I make medical products. I'm not going to keep working while 90% of the population gets paid to sit on their ass. Either give everyone the money, or don't bother.
Better yet, don't try playing dictator. You think the US Military are going to enforce lockdowns? What about the local PD? This would cause a total uprising if they tried it. You'd have the military turn against the elites... boy would I get a joy out of that one... take down the top .01%.
Bottom line this simply isn't feasible. Liberals have no idea how the supply chain works or how products are made... in their little fantasy world they just appear on store shelves or at their door. We rely on dozens of suppliers to make our products... if just a few of them shut down, we shut down. Where are you going to get your medical supplies then?

They are set for life and don’t understand that most working people don’t get paid unless they work and that the majority of retirees are living on savings - not cushy government pensions.

6 weeks will not be long enough it really should be more like 10 to 12 weeks. Only 45 day shut download will drop the total active number by only like 7% to 12% to getting numbers dropped like 40% to 60% shut down will be 80 to 100 days. If you get Covid they tell you self quarantine for 14 really you should be for 17 or 18 days people can not do it for that long. There have been some people quarantined for 14 days they still have Covid for 2 to 4 more days.

We can open everything up today at 100% but we can`t force people to go to a restaurant. Locally the zoo and a major amusement park opened this summer and had to reduce their hours because no one was coming.
This is how Australia got back to near normal. They could have just let it go like we did but they took an adult approach. Of course it`s easier for them to control their borders but the people were asked to sacrifice and they did. Instead of whining about their rights and trying to intimidate politicians with their weapons they sacrificed for the good of their country. That`s what patriotic people do.
Silliness. We could shut down for a year and covid-19 will still be here. It's here. It's able to infect humans. Only an effective vaccine will reduce the impact. Only reduce the impact.

This is insane. The fact that there are people here even suggesting forced quarantines over this particular virus... these are dangerous people. Keep in mind they probably only make up 1% of the population though. The internet has a nasty habit of taking very uncommon occurrences and making them seem commonplace... go to a running or biking forum, look at the posts, and you'd think everyone out there is running 4 minute miles or biking 100 miles a day at a 25MPH average pace.
