If there was a law abiding citizen grocery shopping, that was able to carry a gun in her purse......maybe there wouldn`t be so many dead. Maybe the right person would be dead.

Major changes to our gun laws would require a constitutional amendment but even a minor changes like universal background checks would require 60 votes unless they do away with the filibuster. We have a very troubling gun culture in our country when people like this can have easy access to this type of gun.

Sure the answer to killings like this is more guns.

A law that was overturned in the courts would have banned this type of gun, concealed carry is legal in Colorado with a permit but you are assuming that would be a solution.

Kamala Harris begs to differ, apparently Biden can do something about it but won't.

Kamala Harris said Wednesday President Joe Biden is hesitant to take executive action on gun control because the White House wants Congress to unite and act in a more 'permanent' capacity after two mass shootings rocked the nation in the matter of a week.

Sweet deflection from the Biden administration. Not even Biden is dumb enough to get involved in this.

There are universal background checks when you buy from a Federal Firearms License holder. There is currently no way for a private seller to run a background check. The proposals in Congress now would require private sellers to pay a FFL holder to run the background checks, which is ridiculous.

With asinine laws in multiple states that make it difficult for the average person to buy a firearm without kowtowing to some bureaucrat.

I held my nose and voted Democrat in 2020 because Trump was a complete dumpster fire, and his supporters were going off the rails on the crazy train. I guess I'll have to hope SCOTUS stops the most egregious 2nd Amendment violations

You can't define what an assault weapon is. All of the previous so called assault weapons bans were bans of firearms with an appearance that offended the ant-gun crowd. They weren't based on functionality at all, and firearms that were functionally identical to banned firearms were still allowed to be sold.

As usual, Colion Noir nails it. Pure exploitation by our elected officials.

And maybe more innocents would be dead. There is no example that you can point to. I can point to examples where those with the gun ran the other way. Yes, running was a good for them.

Just to quibble a bit. The “anti-gun” crowd are not actually against guns, they’re all for guns, that protect them. They’re even for walls depending on where they are and whether it protects them directly or not, subject only to whatever arbitrary measurements they use to gain power (voters in the case of a border wall). They’re of the same ilk as the anti-Fascist and the anti-racist. They’re not anti-Fascist, they are fascist in every sense of the word. They’re not anti-racist, they are racist in every sense of the word. The difference is it’s fascism, racism and an armory in the “correct” direction for the “correct” ideology.

Social constructionism allows a person to take whatever stance they want for whatever desired outcome they’re looking for for whatever reason they can come up with and you can’t question it because that’s their “lived” experience. Doing so is you questioning their existence (in a world with no objective reality).

Universal background checks might have a chance of passing if they opened up the nics check to everyone, forcing you to go to a 3rd party and pay a fee will not pass constitutional muster.

Then call Sleepy Joe to get some executive orders in place. Oops, Biden wants congress to hash it out.

Welp, looks like there won't be any universal background checks anytime soon, which is what liberals get for electing a moderate.
