Yeah, it’s still better than a run down rust belt city in the Midwest where in addition to the graffiti and other property damage you could get car jacked/mugged/etc. Still relatively safe when it comes to violent crime.

Portland was ruined by liberals, like so many other places and things.

It’s odd that the ritzy business district is fine, but literally the next block over is boarded up with graffiti on every vertical surface and homeless tents right outside business entrances. Who in the world has a political issue with a family owned Chinese restaurant in the Old Town Chinatown area for instance?

Also to be clear I live across the river in Vancouver, WA where this isn’t happening and is actually a very nice “purple” area that actually elects a mix of Republicans and Democrats with very low taxes, effective police, and political compromises are still possible. No complaints about what it’s like here. Not to mention it’s one of the most beautiful natural areas of the country. Portland was just for our nightlife.
It doesn’t make any sense to you, a normal rational individual.

It makes perfect sense to a radical fringe revolutionary who wants to destroy civilized society. Perfect sense. It goes something like this, “BURN IT ALL DOWN, MAN!”

What part of “ALL” don’t you understand. They are not like the commies, who tend to target the “bourgeoise capitalist pigs”. Anarchists make no distinction between them, they just want civilization to burn generally.

So the socialists got into bed with the anarchists because the anarchists were doing the work of targeting the bourgeoise, then the same socialists cry and are confused when the anarchists target institutions favored by the socialists, who couldn’t see it coming.

LOL. Comedy gold. “But I thought they were only going to riot and loot the rich people. Why are they going after US?”

Pure comedy. The utopian socialists are getting a taste of their own medicine. I love it.

Your first mistake was ever defending these “protests”.

People who lie down with dogs shouldn’t complain when they wake up with fleas.

If you put yourself in an environment full of bad actors, don’t ***** when you suffer the same consequences. If you are older than 12, you should have known better.

Support the right to protest rather. If all guns were seized we wouldn't have gun violence either. But freedom is necessarily messy.

Sorry, this is strictly a liberal/progressive problem and this SHARED responsibility BS is nothing but BS.

I’m in the Seattle area and conserving are without question the minority... So much that we don’t even protest for several reasons like our current Two Tier Justice System.

If you’re a liberal progressive democrat, you can basically get away with everything except for murder, but if you’re a conservative republic and YOU even protest peacefully... Truly peacefully and not the left’s version of “mostly peaceful’” the police, FBI and the National Guard will be sent to put down this “insurrection.”

To even blame or even try to link conservatives or republicans to the chaos in Seattle, Portland and all of California is simply disingenuous and IMHO, an attempt for one side to not take responsibility for their wrong doing or their “supports of wrong doing is now effecting them personally is a straight up lie.

One thing the left is good about is believing ALL their made up lies and excuses. Yes, a few right wing nut jobs did travel to Portland, but they’re not solely responsible for the 200 plus nights of rioting... That’s a lie and even to attempt to claim that those few criminals/idiots are a major part of the riots IS a act of disinformation and propaganda or in simpler terms, a bold face lie.

Liberals on the West Coast owns this chaos 100%... Period.

OP, I believe that you’re a good person, but you are a victim of your own liberal revisionist thinking... Please stop and look at ALL the cold hard facts without any emotions and you might be able to see the truth.

Well I'm specifically asking about housing prices. If they're pretty much the same as they were before Covid, then there's nothing to write about

Right, Left, Center, I'll support your right to peacefully assemble and express your 1A rights.

When we tip over into violence, I fully support law enforcement putting their foot in your ass.
