I think the guy was guilty, but I also don't think he got a fair trial.

Default Chauvin juror lied about being in anti police and Floyd demonstrations.

He also wore a shirt that read “get off our necks”. He lied and said he never participated in demonstrations. Could lead to a mistrial or appeal.

Doesn't even matter anymore.

If it's overturned and Chauvin is granted a new trial ... the feds will be waiting in the wings to scoop him up anyway if he's found not guilty.

I knew that trial was never going to be a fair one. Let’s hope there is an appeal to for a new trial for the sake of the integrity of our justice system.

Yeah, I'm pretty certain that's not how it works.

And he claims, evidently, that it was a rally to "mobilize voters" or something. The NAN blurb about the rally mentions mobilizing voters as one of the goals of the rally.

Doesn't seem quite so cut-and-dried. Regardless, as you correctly pointed out, the other 11 folks on the jury reached the same conclusion in the same timeframe. Even if this results in a re-trial, Chauvin is still guilty. Take that to the bank.

Brandon Mitchell should be held accountable if he lied on a juror questionnaire. And I understand that can be the basis of a felony perjury charge.

I anticipate Chauvin will get his appeal with no change in outcome. However, just being granted the appeal will like result in blue-city chaos again.

You can thank Maxine Waters and Brandon Mitchell for their contributions.

Let’s face it. Fear of riots and personal safety is going to trump any justice in this case. At the end of the day individuals are making these decisions. The POS juror deserves to be prosecuted for lying though.
