I coded on the delivery table with my 2nd. Yes, I nearly died in childbirth. I actually heard them call the code, saw well over a dozen hospital staff run in with the crash cart, and saw them shove my husband out of the delivery room while they resuscitated me. Do I regret not aborting that child? Not one bit. Not ever. And I never will.
The hell we don't. Means-tested public assistance programs are the #1 ranking category in federal spending, at well over $1 trillion per year.
Where do you come up with these numbers? You will have to do better by giving links if you want anyone to believe your numbers.
Yes, it was planned and wanted, even though it was a risk to my life. We both knew that going into it. And after that near death experience, I was responsible enough to prevent any further pregnancies. Key word: responsible.
Actually, I do. My expertise is more of a technical bent, so that's how I help out in my own community, refurbing donated computers, etc., and helping out with tech support. The needs are greatest with the low-income (and especially those who have school-age kids) and the elderly.
Please explain to me how someone in that position even voluntarily participates in activities that could result in pregnancy. What the hell were they thinking?
What? Are you saying a poor woman is not allowed to have sex, (not even with birth control that we all know may fail)?
For unintended pregnancies? No. Most (54%) were not. And another 41% were using birth control incorrectly or inconsistently, such as not taking one or more daily pills during a cycle. 95% of all unintended pregnancies are self-inflicted. Having to live with the consequences of one's own deliberate actions is a natural human occurrence. Happens every day.
I though you said bearing children or not was none of your business. That's what you keep saying, anyway.
I said whether a woman chooses to have an abortion is none of my business. My brother and I disagree on that. I do agree with him that most people that are anti-abortion are hypocrites who will do nothing to help a woman who has a child, except screech "personal responsibility" or "harlot" or "you can't even take a pill correctly, and your child is the punishment".
That's what makes it unconstitutional. Either anyone can kill an unborn child, or no one can. You can't have it both ways.
