THAT might be the additional reason he is doing this, and declaring that date.

HIS LEGACY that he thinks he will get.
Not only Biden, but that is also the whole Dems bet on. Now, all they can hope for is zero American death.

Takes questions from friends, reads off a script. No follow up questions. Notice the ton of angry reporter questions at end he refused to answer.

France.

So y'all are complaining that he hasn't talked to any leaders. He names 3 he's talked to, and, I guess they aren't good enough?

Without a Biden to English translator we wouldn't know what he was babbling on about anyway.

Biden has just stated there is no ally questioning of the US credibility over actions taken in Afghanistan. Did he bump his head before the slow walk to the podium?

This guy is straight up lying to our face!

In addition Biden says Al Qaida no longer is present in Afghanistan. Even the inept UN says there are 13 provinces with active, that's right, ACTIVE Al-Qaida.

A lot of people are talking about how the US failed and now looks weak. But I want to point out that the US is powerful and victorious when it sticks to its own business.

In 1941, we were attacked on our own soil. For the next 4 years we fought until Japan was on her knees. It would be 60 years before anyone attacked us on our own soil.

That happened in 2001. Where is Al Qaeda today? Al Qaeda is gone, and it's leaders are all dead. Same with ISIS. The lesson is simple - if you attack America, we will destroy you.

On the other hand, the North Koreans, the Vietnamese, the Iraqis and the Taliban never attacked us. The US tried to impose our will on those countries. That never works out. Can we finally learn this lesson? Our military is for defense, not conquest and not nation-building.

Without reading foreign news and looking at what they're posting in Afghanistan on social media, most people will believe him. This is the problem. Our media is nothing but an arm of the government, our government lies to us, therefore the media lies to us, and everyone sits at home thinking they have all the facts.

Just look at the repetitive dolts posting the same thing over and over again here, never providing a link to prove what they're saying, and twisting and turning trying to protect their guy while the rest of us are throwing facts and links at them, which they ignore. It's like babysitting.

They haven't received even $1 from $2 trillion that US taxpayers have spent on Afghanistan.

Levi's, Ford, GM - they haven't built anything.

Most likely, Chinese, Russian, Arab companies will come and build factories, roads, schools, etc.
Who got all that money then?

We never had enough troops there to successfully occupy, or get anything done. All we could do is a some raids, and leave. Provide some nice things to locals every now and then, but never any sustainable level.

Why is it the responsibility of the US government to evacuate these Americans? They are mostly Afghan-American living over there with relatives, tourists, people working for various religious groups etc. In other words, civilians. They could have purchased a ticket and left anytime they wanted. Obviously, Biden is not the only one who did not think the Afghan govt would wave the white flag and run.
