No. How about we not cater to this nonsense.
A true transgender individual would want to blend into society as much as possible. That means if they still have male genitalia, they would cover up and go change privately as many females often do. Very few people are going to be fooled into thinking a 6'1" dude with no hips and super broad shoulders is a woman.

The new policy says:
"Evidence that the prior physical development of the athlete as a male, as mitigated by any medical intervention, does not give the athlete a competitive advantage over the athlete’s cisgender female competitors."
That seems a bit difficult to prove. I mean, Lia is beating everyone else. Does that, by itself prove he has a "competitive advantage"?

They are TRANS women. They can form their own league. There are probably enough of them now to make a team.

These girls better band together and start protesting. They can’t kick all of them off the team. And while we are at it, please sue these jerks. That will finally wake them up. This is not right and anyone who says it is is LYING.

I took this to mean that the trans woman was not a successful male athlete prior to transition.

ETA: I don't think trans woman athletes should be allowed to compete against women. I think the best way to address this issue is for trans athletes to compete against men or in their own category.
The letter inked referenced in your link, was drafted by Nancy Hogshead-Maker. Nancy is a member of the "Women's Sports Policy Group" and independent group of former elite athletes working to come up with recommendations on Trans-Female participation. This group previously endorsed the NCAA policies up until the recent events with Lia Thomas.

Seems the direction they are now headed as far as recommendations are concerned is; trans females continue to participate under the female umbrella. They train with the team, they practice with the team, travel with the team and enjoy all the comradery that goes along with being a member of the team.

When it comes to the actual competition, they participate but not compete or finish under the female bracket.
In the case of swimming, they swim in an exhibition lane, but how they finish has no effect on how the girls place or any effect on the team scoring. It takes absolutely nothing away from the females.
Of course this only works with individualized sports such as track or swimming.

On the flip side, if it comes down to where trans females only option is to compete with men, there will be a push for the sake of inclusion to alter the name away from "Men's Sports". The term "Open Sports" has been mentioned.

No matter how they resolve the issue there will be a lot of un-happiness on both sides.

Default 16 Penn swimmers send letter saying teammate Lia Thomas has an unfair advantage

https://www.inquirer.com/college-spo...-20220204.html

Quote:
Sixteen members of the University of Pennsylvania’s women’s swim team have sent a letter to school and Ivy League officials speaking out against transgender teammate Lia Thomas’ participation in the upcoming championship meets. They also ask the university and league tonot take legal action against the NCAA if it adopts a policy barring Thomas’ eligibility.

...

“However, we also recognize that when it comes to sports competition, that the biology of sex is a separate issue from someone’s gender identity. Biologically, Lia holds an unfair advantage over competition in the women’s category, as evidenced by her rankings that have bounced from #462 as a male to #1 as a female. If she were to be eligible to compete against us, she could now break Penn, Ivy, and NCAA Women’s Swimming records; feats she could never have done as a male athlete,” they wrote.

This issue needs to resolve. Men are built differently than women. Competition has to be fair and men competing is women's athletics (transgender or not) is not fair to women or sports
