Where are the empty shelves?

Went to Woodman's yesterday. This is a regional (Wisconsin and Chicago metro) grocer known for massive stores- 252,245 sq feet, the largest grocer in the country. It sells only groceries. The average Costco is about 140,000 sq feet and sellls non grocery stuff.

No empty shelves. The plant based milk ( not my thing) section carries 42 brands. I counted.

I acknowledge I live in a very competitive grocery market area and competitive shopping is a hobby.

Bird flu has had an impact.

$2.89 for 18 lg eggs at the closest Walmart to me.

There are 2 Walmarts within 5 miles of me. Prices vary.

There is a bird flu going around. Millions of chickens have been killed. Thus, eggs and chicken are special cases, not due solely to inflation.

That's a fair point, albeit one that doesn't explain the exorbitant increases in tons of other items well above the reported inflation amount.

I would say 25 to 30% increase in the price of food, and many other items. Of course they lie, especially in an election year. How they think they will get away with it is the real question.
