The rate of positivity will be higher in states that require more rigorous testing. Not sure that is a bad thing.

If I test positive -- with no symptoms, I still can respect others that may have compromised immune, have chosen not to get the vaccine and could be at a higher risk for hospitalization by staying out of public spaces or by choosing to social distance and wear a mask.

Mitigating the spread, reducing the risk for those unvaccinated and immune compromised is the goal.

If you want to fuss about red vs. blue...fine......

WHICH --- in South Carolina -- mask use increases when numbers go up.
Nothing comes up in searches for recent Sarasota restaurant closings due to COVID ("sarasota restaurants closed due to covid"). Which restaurant was it? Reports like what you are claiming generally make the news. But I'm not finding anything.

Masks in stores are probably snowbirds who don't realize that they don't have to mask. Although they would wear them anyway because they are trained to do so.

Anyone in a car driving with a mask? Non FL plates. Every time.

Were you here during the summer?

Why stop testing? Because you don't want to know that the rate of positivity is high?

Huh?

But at the same time folks are getting giddy with revenge seeing New York States high positivity rate as some kind of support for anti-vaxxing......

Had to wear a mask, have proof of vaccination to go to a concert in Florida. Just living the best life in Florida.....

Apparently not. Highly vaccinated, highly restrictive New York is shutting things down again, whereas common sense Florida is not.

Common sense people realize Covid will do what Covid does not matter what, so stop shutting things down. The other people live in New York.

Obama stopped testing H1N1 while it was still circulating around.

I doubt that very much. Why don't you tell us exactly what concert, so we can look up the facts.

You are one of the smart ones. Try to find other people who share your believes. The push for a vax that does not work tells me there is a master plan that is in action and the only way to curb it is noncompliance. The biggest issue is you cannot talk to the vaccinated they do not want to hear it and clearly they have not done any research, just what the TV and newspapers tell you. So obvious this VAX does not work. No other vaccine required so many jabs

Because I don't want "public health" officials to know that the rate of positivity is high. Because then they'll try to "help."

What we're seeing is very sad, and disturbing.
And what I'm hearing is, residents feeling their qualities of life have been diminished.
My god, people are now relocating to different states over Covid.
Divisions are being created, perhaps intentionally by international communities.
They keep imposing restrictions with a historical rate of failure, for what now is endemic; politicians are not this stupid.
Everyone knows the Spanish flu lasted only 3 years, so to drag this out only seems to amplify their own incompetence/agenda?.

Just one restaurant closed on their own from your observation and you want to somehow compare it to the locking down of entire states by the Democrats like last year? Oh boy.
