In my red state, we are being flooded with refugees from blue states. They can't get out of the blue states fast enough.
I don't blame them one bit, but I hope the ones coming are smart enough to not vote in politicians who will implement the same failed policies that made them flee their former state.
It most certainly isn't that way in my Red State. Oklahoma is such a highly undesirable state to live in, due to the incredibly year-round bad weather and lack of decent paying jobs that Tulsa and Stillwater have to try to bribe people with cash incentives to move there. At least the lack of people moving in helps keep the cost of living down.
They are not fleeing because of the politics of blue states. They are fleeing because of the results of the politics of those blue states.
See the difference?
Smart people will see the difference you so astutely reveal, however Liberals are blind to it. They cannot see how political policies lead to poor living conditions, so save your breath.
Need proof?
Look at the historical population trends in Cleveland & Detroit, and note the current Mayor's party affiliation.
When there is 1 soul left in these 2 cities, they will be the Democrat Mayor! Yes, it's that bad.
Save the saveable (Independents & moderate Dems), and leave the left behind.
How about they are fleeing because these states have lower real estate prices, and maybe their job moved down there. Prove that these are the results of red state/ blue state policies.
"The price of housing is significantly higher than construction costs only in a limited number of areas, such as California and some eastern cities. ... Instead, our evidence suggests that zoning and other land use controls play the dominant role in making housing expensive".
Zoning is a combination of local and state political policy.
Will you now agree, or contend that you know more than Yale?
You might want to look at the population of the states you claim where people are exiting rather than rely on Uhaul which is not the most reliable metric of this sort of thing.
Admittedly, many in those blue states wish that more people would move out as they're overcrowded.
Here's a link of CA's population from the last few years (the source is actually Texas A & M...how ironic). Yeah, your mass exodus is nil.
Not to mention, most people don't really give a rat's azz about the politics in making a move. The #1 reason is simply going to be COL since residents in most blue states are more affluent. And the reason the prices are higher is typically desirability to live somewhere.
I used to hear this nonsense when I first moved to the Austin areas (the uninformed would say they were being invaded by Californians). So I looked it up. And wouldn't you know. Most people moving to our area where from other parts of Texas by a landslide. The percentage of Californians was like 6%. And as for your politics being changed, I'd say if 6% of people had that much of an influence, then your politics were changing regardless.
With that said, I couldn't tell you the politics of any of my neighbors as they're all too polite to bring politics or religion into a conversation. It's called etiquette folks.
No surprise but not really thrilled folks are moving to Texas,Tennessee or Florida. All 3 are red states that want to stay that way so unless people leave their horrific ideas they voted into office in those blue states NOTHING will change even if they move away from there. We are considering all 3 of the top states with Tn being at the top of the list. https://www.uhaul.com/Articles/About...Of-2021-26380/
You are making a HUGE assertion that most of those moving out are lib dems.

The South, with a population of 127,225,329, was the most populous of the four regions (encompassing 38.3% of the total national population) and was the only region that had positive net domestic migration of 657,682 (the movement of people from one area to another within the United States) between 2020 and 2021. The Northeast region, the least populous of the four regions with a population of 57,159,838 in 2021, experienced a population decrease of -365,795 residents due to natural decrease (-31,052) and negative net domestic migration (-389,638).
Three states had populations above 20 million in 2021: California (39,237,836), Texas (29,527,941) and Florida (21,781,128). New York dropped below 20 million people in the last year, decreasing from 20,154,933 to 19,835,913.
In 2021, 20 states and the District of Columbia lost residents via net domestic migration. Largest domestic migration losses were in California (-367,299), New York (-352,185) and Illinois (-122,460).
Don't count on that. The real estate market is on fire in FL and in NC, two destinations for far too many of the inbreeds from the Northeast.
The real state market has been on fire in most places. But don't kid yourself into thinking it's still not a bargain for those coming from affluent areas. Median home price in my old neck of the woods is over $1.6 million. We paid $317k for our new home in 2019. It's worth over $500k now, but still relatively cheap by the standards I'm used to.
Yeah, because dropping 352k on a population of over 39 million is a mass Exodus.
And a whopping 657k increase on a population of 127 million is really impressive, lol. Watch, out because, that ought to make a significant impact on your politics.
Good lord. Does anyone ever do the math on these numbers before spewing their propaganda?
Brilliant!
