How about they are fleeing because these states have lower real estate prices, and maybe their job moved down there. Prove that these are the results of red state/ blue state policies.
Don't count on that. The real estate market is on fire in FL and in NC, two destinations for far too many of the inbreeds from the Northeast.
Politics is what makes red states a better financial option.
It's all about the politics. Vote in high sending, high taxing Democrats and we see what we see now. People fleeing as fast as they can.
It amazes me how Democrats never connect the dots between what they vote for and the outcome of those policies.
Most red states are pro business, maintain a low cost of government, meaning low local taxes, and avoid outrageous levels of business regulation.
That is why the migration direction year in, year out is a net reduction of Blue State citizens staying in Blue States from birth, and a net addition of Blue State refugees moving to red states.
Maybe the real estate is comparably lower for the "inbreeds" from the northeast. I would guess that it still is lower for them in a lot of cases.
Real estate taxes were considerably cheaper at one point in FL, but the high cost of homeowner's insurance and a subsequent rise in property taxes have probably narrowed that gap quite a bit.
I think most of them are moving to escape the stupidity that has resulted from the policies of the people that they elected. It could be my imagination, but it seems like the Northeast in particular has just become an insufferable place to live due to political stupidity. Throw in weather that is less than ideal, and it's no wonder those states are shrinking slightly.

Before we replaced the roof a few years back, we were paying $1300 a year in property taxes but $4200 a year in Homeowner's insurance for an ordinary tract home five miles inland and 40+ feet above sea level. (New roof and an inspection to max out out state-mandated windstorm mitigation credits cut that in half) And Florida is a state where the property insurance is socialized as heck in order to get anyone solvent to write a policy down here. Bad storm years, we'll pay a couple hundred dollars in surcharges on insurance policies to recapitalize the state high risk pool.
And property taxed are that low because the state has a California-style hard limit on property taxes. We bought our house in 2001 when things were cheap here and have done out 3% annual baby step of an increase. My neighbors who bought in recent years are paying 3x as much in taxes on similar homes as we are.
The end result of all this will be political change. These people are moving to the blue urban centers of these states. If the population increases enough, those "red" states will become blue.
Not necessarily. Florida is a great example of a state that has become more red despite massive in-flow from typically blue states like NY, NJ, MA. It could perhaps be a self-selecting bias of more right leaning people from those states choosing Florida. Miami-Dade is pretty unique among major urban areas for having a high % of republicans, much of that due to the communist-weary Cuban population.
However, I fear that this is a situation unique to Florida and won't spare the likes of Texas or Arizona.
No surprise but not really thrilled folks are moving to Texas,Tennessee or Florida. All 3 are red states that want to stay that way so unless people leave their horrific ideas they voted into office in those blue states NOTHING will change even if they move away from there. We are considering all 3 of the top states with Tn being at the top of the list. https://www.uhaul.com/Articles/About...Of-2021-26380/
People and companies are flocking to those states more because there is no income tax. No income taxes encourage job creation. It's not mainly due to blue state politics. If Red States with state income taxes that are barely growing or even losing population, such as Kansas and West Virginia would switch to no income taxes they could benefit, too, in the very same way.
