A good QB makes a coach look good. This isn’t a secret.
But Tomlin has shown he can win with MR and Duck in 2019 and almost made the playoffs. That is the sign of good coaching.
Point is Tomlin has had one his entire head coaching career, has had great players, and only has 1 SB win and only 3 playoff wins in the last 11 seasons. Without a franchise/HOF qb he’s going to be worse…and he has way too much control of the Stillers decision making. He’s hot his expiration date years ago.

Lifelong Stillers fan here, and Tomlin is overrated. Then again, look at Cowher's record, and where the big game versus the premier names like Manning, Brady et al are concerned, he wasn't all that great either.
Ben's crazy talent and luck got them over more than once. I put both behind a guy like Schottenheimer, who won 10-12 games a year but could never get it done in the playoffs. Buffalo is headed that way, where Josh Allen's raw talent and some decent luck is making bad coaching look way better than it should. Their defense piled up stats based on an offense that controls the ball well, but got exposed BADLY against any good offense.
But yeah, Tomlin will have his job for life. If he ends up as just a head floating in a tank, he'll still be the head coach. The inventors of the racist Rooney Rule will never fire a black coach.

White men are pretty good at producing Super Bowl winning quarterbacks. There's only been one full black QB to lead his team to a SB victory.

In today's world only an idiot would think ANY NFL owner would NOT hire an excellent black coach.
