Okay what bases do you want to close.

Radar, Space Force and Intelligence bases such as Fylingdales, Feltwell, Menwith Hill, Croughton, Molesworth (and Alconbury) or Aegis Ashore Ballistic Missile Defense System (AABMDS) in Redzikowo, Poland and in Romania or US Intelligence units in Germany or even US Space force units in Europe.

Do you still want to use GCHQ facilities such as Bude (undersea cables) or Digby and to share data with you on a daily basis and worth with you, and the same applies to the new National Cyber Forces.

The UK has announced it's building a new £5 Billion National Cyber Force, which will be the equivalent of GCHQ in relation to Cyber.

National Cyber Force to be based in Samlesbury - BBC News

Do you still want to use British overseas bases including Cyprus, Ascension Island, Diego Garcia etc.

Do you still want to use RAF Fairford for US Aircraft including spy planes, as and when needed, at very little cost to the US.

Do you still want the air refuelling capabilities, at Mildenhall, along with USAF Special forces and joint UK/US Rivet Joint Intelligence operations.

Do you still want help in operating drones overseas via US intelligence bases in the UK and RAF bases such as Waddington.

Do you still wish to participate in a close F-35 US/UK operating and training pact based at Lakenheath and Marham, or have access to Lossiemouth in relation to tracking submarines in the Greenland Iceland UK Gap.

Do you still want to operate the remaining three front line USAF bases in Europe at Aviano in Italy (F-16's), Spangdahlem in Germany (F-16's) or Lakenheath in England (F-15's and F-35's).

Do you still want US Marine F-35B's to be able to operate from UK carriers.

Do you still want to participate in forces exchange schemes or have access to other countries areas of expertise or Headquarters and intelligence services.

Do you still want to be part of NATO MARCOM in Northwood, London, or the multi-natoion Battlefield management provided by the Allied Rapid Reaction Corps based at Imijin Barracks in Gloucester, or the communications and other support to the unit provided by Britain.

So you still want to be able to have the vast logistics and medical hub that is Ramstein Air base and US Medical facilities in Europe which helped save numerous American lives during Iraq and Afghanistan.

The vast majority of US forces in Germany are based around Ramstein and K-Town (Kaiserslautern)

Do you still want Naval Support Facilities in Spain and Italy.

Do you still want the 173rd Parachute Infantry Regiment on standby in Italy in relation to Africa and the Middle East or US Special forces similarly based in Europe in relation to rapid response in other nearby regions.

Do you still want to be free to use European ports and airports at a whim, or to have more influence in Europe than any other country, and this includes US Supreme Allied Headquarters in Europe (SHAPE) in Belgium.

Do you still want NATO forces including special forces and security services to work and train together in relation to Counter Terrorism and to use compatible systems and equipment.

I could go on and on, as there are all kinds of abilities that Europe offers US Forces, US Intelligence and US National Security.

If you want to close US bases then that's up to the US, but do not be under the misapprehension or misconception that all you would be losing is a few infantry or tank bases as the reality is very different.

I've noticed less Russian trolls posting. Putin must've ordered them to the frontlines.

Ummm...the US Military played a pretty big part of that...don't you think? You have the exact opposite of that happening in this affair. And exactly what is the quality of those 2 million in reserve...and what armaments will they be supplied with...rocks?

You think you are proving your point with the abundant evidence that you provided that its a world empire? Which war in the last two decades was "successful". Yes, great having military bases everywhere was useful tactically....

I can't help but post this in this thread. I posted in the primary Russia/Ukraine thread. This is a Russian journalist being recorded in April 2021...he's under arrest right now in Moscow BTW. Watch this video. There are people inside Russia that actually have a grip on the reality of the Russian military and how an invasion of Ukraine would play out. This guy just nails it.

The Soviets responded to NAZI invasion with much the same furor as the Ukrainians are responding to this Russian invasion.

Implying that the Reds losing ~800,000 defending against a 3,000,000 man assault makes losing many thousands now somehow OK is pretty feeble logic. No doubt the Russians are extremely tough people and Putin himself does not care about human life.........this isn't 1941 Russian moms and dads will find out.

Think we are going to fit these facts together.? The Russian military is over estimated therefore NATO is redundant. Wouldn't an honest media question this.

If Ukraine defeats Russia we need this massive NATO alliance.

We will not see any of that and we know it.
The answers is the Russians and others like the Iranians understand brute force and little else. Individual Euro countries would likely falter. NATO isn't going anywhere.

Now I really know it isn't our fight or NATO's, what with Ukraine kicking so much Russkie arse.

Good for them. All glory to Ukraine.
My read is bits like The US sending in SF types after Crimea to train and coach the Ukrainian military plus various countries sending drones, missiles, smart mines, ammo, parts, communications gear etc. have yielded significant impacts. IOW Ukraine has received lots of help.

ETA - just read that numerous Russian military vehicles in Ukraine are failing because they are shod in automotive tires.
