The UK has just announced 6,000 new defensive missiles and £25m in financial backing for Ukraine's military personnel.

This is on top of the 4,000 anti-tank weapons the UK has alredy supplied to Ukraine's armed forces, including Next-Generation Light Anti-Tank Weapons Systems, or NLAWs, and Javelin missiles.

The additional weaponry means that the UK has now provided more than 10,000 missiles, and the new missiles will include the Starstreak high-velocity anti-air missiles to help Ukrainians defend themselves against aerial bombings, as well as body armour, helmets and combat boots.

Whilst Justice Secretary Dominic Raab will also chair a meeting of justice and foreign ministers in the Hague on Thursday to coordinate support for the International Criminal Court's war crimes investigations, and is expected to announce an additional £1 million in funding for the court, as well as new support from UK soldiers with expertise in intelligence gathering.

Apparently, the Ukrainians haven't lost anything. Those Russian hypersonic missiles didn't destroy anything and Russian aircraft just can't hit anything, all they can do is get themselves shot down. This war is guaranteed to end in a Ukrainian victory.

Win or lose, the number of troops they lose is irrelevant. Did you skip history class when it discussed Operation Barbarossa?

Both sides will come to a compromise to save face, eventually, and the war will be over.

I know more about WWII generally and Hitler's battle plans and key offensives than you do for certain so just drop the condescension.

And yet the Russian war machine continues on in Ukraine. Me think the propaganda on both sides are getting out of control....

True, the battlefield will dictate what type of leverage can be had during negotiations.

Nevertheless, neither country can't afford for this to drag on.

Then you would know the Soviets lost 800,000 and still won.

There is no way those numbers are correct, just typical propaganda sent to the MSM so they can parrot a bunch of BS.

I think the figure NATO quoted was between 7,000 and 15,000 KIA.

The Pentagon had already estimated a figure of 7,000 last week, so it's probably nearer the 10,000 plus figure given recent heavy fighting.

The wounded in action, missing in action and prisoner of war well may be realistic if you add Absent Without Leave figures, because a lot of young Russian conscripts are believed to have deserted.

The fact that Russia is now looking to mobilise reservists and further conscripts, as well employing private military companies and foreign mercenaries, in order to replace losses, speaks volumes regarding the current situation as well as the extent of losses in Ukraine.

The latest from the UK Ministry of Defence - 24th March 2022.
