Or other strategic thinkers like a Henry Kissinger or the RAND corporation.

You seem to think America is some benign hegemon who only wants world peace and the spreading of freedom and democracy because we're just such nice people. That is childish and idiotic thinking. America is a ruthless empire bent on world domination. Our goal is to protect the US dollar and keep ourselves on top by keeping the rest of the world weak, divided, and dependent.

America simply doesn't care about "democracy" except as a tool for American Empire. We support democracy when and where we can control it(democracy is easily manipulated by money). The moment a "democracy" defies us, we overthrow it and install a dictator. The idea that America cares about other countries is laughable. America only cares about itself.

The goal of the United States is both regime-change in Moscow and the "decolonization" of Russia. The United States needs to break apart Russia because Russia, with its vast territory and resources, will always be a great power as long as it exists. Only through the dissolution of Russia and by making its pieces economically and militarily dependent(especially through divide and conquer) can Russian power be permanently wiped off the map. As long as Russia remains in one piece it can never join the EU(or other similar organizations) because it would, in time, dominate.

That's who/what Ukrainians are, and that's precisely their mode of thinking.

Russians understand what's going on, they learned their lesson back in the 90ies, while the majority of Ukrainians naively believed in the ultimate goodness of the "collective West" and US in particular.
Precisely because their mentality is that of the Russian province, not the mentality of the wise and sovereign state power.

They started realizing a thing or two only by now, when they are dying in droves on the front lines, while the US army is nowhere in sight, and the foreign weaponry is trickling down to them only at such rate, that they wouldn't be completely choked by the Russians.

The latest drone attack in Moscow slightly damaged a building in the Moscow Expo Center. Russia shut down the airport and evacuated some people. As bad as this has been for the Russians, it's nothing compared to what Ukrainians have been going through for over a year now.

Ukraine still has a long way to go if it wants to match Russia's brutality and violence.

Every day, I read of another fireworks factory going up in smoke, another drone attack in Moscow, ...

I'm surprised we aren't hearing threats from Putin about what he's going to do in retaliation.

Or maybe, he's already done it. Maybe he's got nothing up his sleeve.

Endless wars and the rich get richer.

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/w...-b2395516.html

snip

"The number of troops killed or wounded in Ukraine since Russia’s invasion is approaching 500,000, according to US officials, in a harrowing estimate not accounting for civilian deaths.

Russia’s military casualties are approaching 300,000, including as many as 120,000 deaths.

While Ukraine has lost 70,000 troops, with between 100,000 and 120,000 injured, officials in Washington were reported as saying on Friday by the New York Times.

Casualty figures remain difficult to estimate because Moscow is presumed to undercount its war dead and injured, while official figures are not reported by Kyiv."
You would think at some point people would get tired of talking about endless wars. After al, all wars have ended at some point.
War has always been a part of human history. There is nothing about modern civilization that says to me, "OK. Wars have all ended. There will be no more."
That ain't gonna happen. There will be wars and there will be companies manufacturing war stuff. Those companies will make money, but that doesn't mean they caused the war, or made it happen.

Stopping this war in its tracks - something the US could do if it had to - would result in all sorts of unforeseen disasters and circumstances. So America won't do that. But they won't let Russia win, either.
Russia never saw this happening.

Putin held an emergency meeting with his Generals. "The Ukrainians are not scared of us. They attack my beloved Kerch Bridge and Moscow. I am mad. Stop them. Do something. You know what happened to Gennady Zhidko. I know you don't want to end up like him," Putin told his Generals.
