The main difference between Ukraine and Russia is that Russian targets are military which sometimes cause collateral damage(or are sent off course by Ukrainian air defenses). Ukrainian targets in Russia are pretty much never military. They're only intended to scare people. Although in most cases, it seems more aimed at embarrassment than fear.

That is how American propaganda is done as well.

In Bakhmut, Ukraine was heavily outgunned but defending. In the counteroffensive, Ukraine is heavily outgunned and not defending. That's why Ukraine has lost more soldiers in a month than Russia lost in a year. The loss ratios in this counteroffensive are catastrophic.

OMG, Putin needs to just stop. All he is doing is proving how inept Russians are. Russia is not the old USSR.

India launched a sophisticated lunar explorer, and used relatively low power rockets and technology to get into lunar orbit. The Indian vehicle will land in a few days.
Russia used a higher power and larger rocket and tried to beat India to the lunar south pole. It crashed.

I don't think Russians are aware of their own incompetence and shortcomings. Many Russians apparently believe Russia can thrive in spite of being ostracized by the world economic organizations, sanctioned by most major countries and boycotted by well over 1000 companies, some of whom were vital to Russia's energy development. And if that's what they believe, they are wrong.

F-16s are to become a permanent reality for Ukraine. European countries evidently feel the option is clear; assist Ukraine now, or face the same fate as Ukraine. No one believes Russia will ever stop its aggressive behavior until it sees that it simply cannot continue.

NATO official suggests some rumblings on pushing a peace deal where Ukraine joins NATO and Russia annexes more land from Ukraine. Ukraine denies that they'd ever support such a deal.

Space exploration is difficult and failures happen. India's 2019 moon landing failed. In the same year, Israel's moon landing also failed. Japan's Hakuto-R moon landing failed in April of 2023. America had a string of failures in the early years of NASA.

That’s precisely the point, even an inept Russia can still be a threat.

Russia has endless cannon fodder to throw into the war.
Quote:
"For people living in small towns, villages and prisons, the war is an option to earn 10 times more money than they got before," Boris Grozovski, an expert on the Russian economy from the Wilson Center think tank, told Newsweek. "So they and their families see war as a lottery to get out from poverty."
Quote:
"Now Putin says to poor Russians: 'Go and kill Ukrainians. If you are lucky and return alive, you will become rich. If you die, your family will get huge sums of money from the government."

As Newsweek reported in May, vacancies analyzed by the Foundation of Ukrainian War Victims, found that the average salary for jobs "directly related" to the war totaled 300,000 rubles, far higher than the national average of around 63,000 rubles.
