BOTH impeachments weren't criminal trials, either. Neither were Trump's THREE SCOTUS picks/confirmations that got rammed through, despite McConnell stonewalling Obama's pick. The cognitive dissonance on the right would ordinarily be astounding, but they've elevated Trump to a Christ-like figure so don't expect them to accept any factual evidence at face value any time soon...

This isn’t a trial. All your comparisons to a criminal trial are moot because congressional hearings are not trials and don’t have to follow procedures of a criminal trial. As others have already stated, Trump and his minions are more than welcome to testify. And the GOP was invited to seat a number of people on the panel, but they refused. They are sabotaging their own hearings, and there’s no one to blame but themselves.

It's a congressional hearing at taxpayers expense to find fault. All congressional hearings is bipartisan and both sides ask questions and bring witnesses especially when the party in charge says they will recommend criminal charges to the DA.

But isn't the responsibility of the hearing to verify all hearsay before allowing testimony? They should already have the testimonies of the people in the car. They didn't need her hearsay. Now the hearing wants to hear from them? LOL

You think he is lying? He has direct talk with the Secret Service while she only has hearsay. Why would the hearing allowed a liar to testify under oath when they either didn't verify it or refused to verify it? This is more of a brain fart like by the prosecutors in the OJ case with the glove.

Although it is moot at this point, Hutchinson’s testimony itself was hearsay. (Of course hearsay and uncross-examined testimony are hallmarks of this wacky and one-sided theatrical production).

The hearing didn’t say they wanted to hear from them. An anonymous source told a journalist they want to testify. The Secret Service, who had been cooperating the whole time, said they would like to respond to the testimony.
We don’t know whether or not the hearsay was verified nor by whom. It may well have been.
